No, still not having it, distinctly lacking cheerfulness. Also decided to skip the pec deck flyes which could be a contributory factor.

Tbar row, these in pounds
50 x 10
62 x 10
75 x 10
87 x 10
100 x 10
112 x 10
125 x 10
137 x 10
150 x 10
162 x 10
175 x 10
187 x 10
200 x 10
200 x 10
200 x 10
And that will be all for tonight, did some stretches and horrid remedial stuff, now we wait for Wednesday and squats

Similar. Not very slow but quite slow. Got there though, that's the main thing

I dined at r kid's today and very nice it was too. On the radio when homeward bound a fellow predicted that any African team has the best chance they have ever had of lifting the world cup. This was largely based on the assumption that the heat will bother them less than most and they have better footballing skills than most would assume.

In tribute to the gods of foolishness and whimsy I have placed two bets on African nations, both to win the actual thing, one at eighties and the other at two hundreds. I realize this is foolishness of the highest order (unless of course it turns out to be the most inspired gambling I have ever done) but I would like to stay within touching distance of madness for a while yet.

Squat, sleeves and boots on

20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
60 x 5
80 x 4
95 x 3
110 x 2
125 x 1
135 x 5
140 x 5
145 x 5
150 x 5
It was noticed that the 150 set was not as low as the 145, ergo there is little sense in going to 155 as if I can't get it with 150 I can't get it with 155

unless

I just do a single, at least I have still felt the weight - so

155 x 1

This was videoed and analysed and it was not low enough. I suspected as much as it was easy to stand up with. Not that far off though. Wait five minutes and

155 x 1

Again videoed and again analysed and this was in, this is probably as deep as I will ever get and the real delight was that it was really not that much more difficult to stand up with than the high one that preceded it.

I will have to introduce a more cyclical element to my squatting and working deadlifts into the mix will only complicate things. But where there is a will there is a way. Just have to find it

So lucky and yet so unlucky

Three today and could so easily have been two

GGGXY was the first go so now I have the first four letters and I can think of only two options

First option involves a repeat letter which normally is a good idea, option two involves a new letter which I consider a much more likely word.

So I went for option two - I shouldn't have

Damn it !!!!

Fell asleep watching TV last night, which pre-retirement was very common, post-retirement it is much more rare. Legs are aching thunderously. Hamstrings are rather gorgeous though

I know, I know and don't you know that makes it so much worse. I was always going to get it in three but there was a chance of a rare two and the word that gave me I considered far more unlikely than the other. Ah well, there you go.

A quick three for me.

Yesterday was an interesting one. I subscribe to Pete’s thinking that if if a letter can be repeated, go with that. However, yesterday had two potential repeated letters. That created a dilemma within my meagre brain. Inevitably, I picked the wrong option and a three became a four!

Struggling now as I have no vowels but I remember a word that Handsome Jeff had a week or so back when he was on a different listing to me. It's a word that I had never heard of until last week and certainly a word I have never used, and it worked.

Phew !!
