» Dextrose+maltodexterin+creatine (Go to post)01-10-2012 @ 09:43
dextrose or maltodex sometimes get mixed with creatine as a delivery system, the logic is the insulin spike from the sugar (which is what dextrose and maltodextrin actually is) gets the creatine into the cells quicker. but you can just chuck creatine into some orange juice and get the same effect.

King mob is just the name i use on any given forum, but yeah within the first week of posting on sudgen i wanted to change it to my real name. Seems daft not to just call yourself, yourself, ken what i mean? Names actually alex as it happens.

friday -

squat 8x3 @95kg
bench 8x3 @75kg
deadlift 6x2 @140kg

everything felt real strong today. even felt good enough to work on some different squat stances for my first 3 sets, as im increasingly worried about my lower back rounding at the bottom, but quickly brought it back in to where it just "felt" the strongest.

got tighter in the bench than i ever have before and it worked a treat - im contracting my whole body it feels like, really squeezing my glutes and pinning myself to the bench. strongest pressing iv done in a while.

deadlift was 100% hitch free but on the second rep of the last sets my left hand started to open up at the top. still the best form iv done in a while.

squat 6x6 @90kg
bench 6x6 @70kg

squats were wonky, but not a massive struggle. need to do more reps to get concrete on my technique, will probably put a lower intensity day into my next block dedicated just to technique.

got up to 70kg while warming up on the bench, and that felt as heavy as a top set, so i made the decision to be humble and stay at 70kg for my work sets. i think building confidence and consistency is better than chasing bigger weights.

plus i want to try and develop a better sense of what my max is for each day, start working more auto-regulation into my templates

to be honest i am surprised my bench has been progressing as quickly as it has, i expected it to bottom out around week 3, and seeing as iv only got another week in this block im happy with the progress so far.

ill start at 72.5kg for next week after hitting 75kg on friday.

yeah he says in that rippetoe interview that he did have a comp coming up but he really wanted to hit the double in training so trashed it (the comp) to get the double.

how much would that old school single ply suit add to his lift do you think?

edit - just before this kirk circle jerk reaches the money shot, use this to calm yourselves down &rt;

i know everyone here will have seen this, and i saw it myself years ago, but i still get over how totally awesome this is -

anyone else ever done 455kg for a double?

hard to see from the video but if that was even a half as easy as it looked then im putting money on spoto taking mendlesons raw bench

guy is an absolute freak, its videos like this that make me either want to either give up lifting or go straight to the gym and start doing max effort bench presses for a week
