JC said:you doing the Northen u105 mate? Should do well if so...certainly strong enough statically

Yer i was thinking about giving it a go mate. Any type of of moving events i get all sorts of problems though due to a few dodgy vertabrae in my spine. I did awfull in my last comp because i hadn't trained farmers and yoke due to them causing me real bad shin splints which i later found out was all down to my spine.

I'm starting events again this weekend after 3 months lay off so gonna see how it goes.

Are you competing at the northern again this year?

Cheers mate!

Cheers mate but it's clearly not a stiff leg dead as others on here have pointed out haha. Will have to finally pull 300 to redeem myself i think ha.

just_t said:strong but thats just a bad form deadlift lol

Cheers mate but either way they hit my hams really hard and are sore for days after. Will know if theyve done any good when i try a regular dead next.

hixxy1985 said:not a SLDL mate, whole point of SLDL in my opinion is to put more emphasis on the hams and improve your lockout ability by completing the pull cleanly.........

Strong pull all the same.

Ok thanx for tht mate, glad i put this on now as i'm clearly doing something wrong. Would i be better standing on a plate or something then? I had a go at doing them like tht a couple of years ago but i used to pull my back.

I cant get my legs any straighter than this when pulling from the floor. The 270 i did before this did go up smoothly so maybe it's just a case of it being too heavy rather than leg pozitioning.

shanejer said:But then the legs are not stiff ! Grin doesn't it just become a deadlift?

Unhappy The 270 was better! Unhappy

Haha, not sure it was evena hitch but something strange happend. Got long arms so suppose that's the straightest i can get my legs unless i stand on a couple of plates.

I am aware this is not a stiff leg deadlift and won't be counted as a PB

Hybrid version of a stiff leg deadlift haha. Hitched but i pulled a nice clean 270 before this but the video messed up so went again but heavier!

275 KG from today. Far from a clean pull but 15 kg increase none the less!

Decided to move from 6's to 3's today as i am pretty much back to my biggest muscle wise. Going to focus on getting strong now.

Standing Press

Bar x 10
40 x 10
70 x 3
80 x 3
90 x 3
97.5 x 3
102.5 x 2 Lost the line on the 3rd and jst wouldnt budge past half way
105 x 2

Happy with this, felt strong even tho still sore from other training sessions.

Squats

60 x 6
100 x 3
140 x 3
180 x 3
190 x 3
200 x 3

Felt ok, better than last sesh, managed to get it a little bit further down my back which i struggled with last tym because of the narrower grip im having to take. Dnt know what happend but the final rep with 200 felt like whati think a normal squat should look like, didnt think i was capable of this because of the way my spine is set.

Stiff leg deadlifts

60 x 10
140 x 3
200 x 3
230 x 3

270 x 1 PB 10 KG
275 X 1 DQ'd

Massive pb here, was nervous before i tried the 270 as when i did 260 before it was a really hard rep. Was a really nice rep and was videod but it didn't save. The 275 wasnt a nice rep by anymeans but got a vid of tht which il put up later.

Reverse lunges

60 x 6
75 x 6
90 x 6

Best session ive probably ever had, felt strong on everything. Legs are really achin now and got a gud hedache aswell.

Finish!

Jerk

bar x 10
40 x 3
60 x 3
80 x 3
95 x 3
105 x 3
120 x 2
120 x 3 Rep PB

concentrated on getting lower down with the split tday, was better than last sessions form but still not low enough with the heavier sets. Struggled on the sets of 120 as my front delts, chest and triceps are insanely sore from benching a couple of days ago. Didnt feel stable overhead at all.

Seated alternate dumbell curls

35's x 6
35's x 6

Dumbell preacher curls

30's x 6
32.5 x 4 left 6 right

Strength is back in my arms.

Back raise bench situps

x 8
30 x 6
30 x 7
30 x 8
30 x 8

These felt real good, really hit the spot. Been struggling gettin the right movement but it was all abs today.

Finish!

Happy with with everything barring the jerk which was probs the only important thing. Was sore though and suppose it was 120 for 3 overhead which iv never done before.

Bench press

60 x 10
100 x 6
110 x 6
120 x 3
120 x 3 + 3 assists
125 x 2 + 2 assists

Not very good, felt weak.

Incline bench press

95 x 6
100 x 6
105 x 4 + 2 assists
107.5 x 3 + 2 assists

Bench press

Technique work

80 x 3
80 x 3
100 x 3
100 x 3
100 x 3
110 x 3

Working on developing an arch with these, felt better than the way i normally do them.

Finish.
