Thank you very much for the kind words gents, we have had the comp inside and out in the past and it's always a fun comp and for me that's the most important thing.
Most of the events will make it possible for less experienced guys to still participate but at the same time tax the more experienced guys to a level they will no doubt encounter at the Brits and Europeans
We have set records in the past
Silver dollar 402.5kg
Farmers 170kg over 12m
Log press 130kg
Fingals finger 7 reps
Shield carry 87m (I think)
Atlas stones 160kg
Max deadlift 330kg
Hoping to set a new one in max yoke, dumbbell and maybe silver dollar
Good luck everyone and train hard, over the next few months I will try my best to answer any questions and will organise a few training sessions closer to time

Yeah I know !! But I am sure you big guys will allow it to be reduced to 70 for a couple of weeks in may if I ask nice

We have recieved a lot of interest already so fingers crossed we have a strong field fighting it out for the Viking helmet and the chance to represent Scotland in national and international competitions that follow

We are going to introduce the option of 24 hour weigh-in to bring the competition in line with other 105 comps, the idea would be that the gym will be open from 11 on the sat and athletes will have a 2 hour window from 11am to 1pm to weigh-in, any strong objections please feel free to voice them here

Something tells me I'll take advantage of the 24 hour weigh in!

My thoughts on 24hr weigh ins

I don't like them, means people can legitimately weigh more at time of the comp, which to me is the whole point of a weight class

But I am we'll aware the follow on comps, ie worlds has them and you put Scottish althletes at a disadvantage for not having the same framework from the roots up as everyone else. So I think it's definitely the right move

I also think as neither a organiser or competitor my opinion is irrelevant but it's an open discussion forum so you have to read my opinion, tough Happy

Another great looking comp from Andy! ....and good to see Martin in!...

Comp looks great. I'm not in favour of the 24hr weigh in though and would prefer an on the day weigh in to make it a real u105 comp.

24Hr weigh in Sounds fine everyone will be there or there abouts on weight and have the chance to weigh in early then know what they need to do to make the cut. if over as all scales are dif as I know from my last comp spending a hr in the sauna Not Ideal thanks to Ben F lol

Martin Good luck on getting down to 105 from 130 that will be a huge weight drop lol Good effort so far Wink

Yoke sounds Great for max weight. It will be very intresting to see what weight wins it and if records will be broken !

For what its worth I have nothing against the 24 hour weigh inn but any chance of weighing in in the evening for the likes of myself and leggiez who will be travelling down from up north the night before.

Can you put me down for this Andy. 24hr weigh in won't bother meGrin Can't see me ever getting near 105! Although it does give a slight disadvantage to those travelling to the comp. Does being 1-2kgs heavier than another competitor make that much difference anyway?
