a dork Member 1023, 846 posts	Tell your friends to email Alan at APT. He is a sponsor of mine and loves helping out the military. In fact he was a US Marine for 10 years and CIA for 10 years. If they promise to send pics of them wearing the gear while down there or maybe out in the field, I'll bet he gives them some cool stuff.

My name is Simon Cooper I am a member of the British Army and serve in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and I have just started a 6 month tour of Afghanistan. I started training for Strongman approx 18 months ago and currently run the British Army (Germany) Strongman club. We have had a few competitions to date and I am currently the 3rd strongest U105kg in the Army. I have also competed in a couple of civvi comps earlier this year. I have entered into the U105 Southern qualifiers for ESM/BSM next April and hope that I can get in some solid training over the next 6 months. I am hoping to get a club running whilst I am here and hopefully it will catch on so that when I leave people will still train and compete out here. As I explained to jt the kit and equipment out here is very limited and although I will be able to manufacture alot of the training implements its the other stuff that is hard to come by such as chalk, wraps and belts etc. I have read the comments above and am really grateful for the kind donations. If anyone does wish to help out then please pm me and I will give you my address. Many thanks Simon
