An inspired and rather bold four

XXGXX
GXXXX
XXXXY

If I move the "Y" of the third attempt to be the second letter a very obvious (at least to me) option presents itself. If wrong, I have wasted an attempt and have little time left but confidence was high, and as it turns out, justified

That's a bold statement. But Wordle does lend itself to giving us strongly held convictions with really nothing much to base them on. I do it all the time :-)

Reminds me of one cold winter day back in 2017. I got two rear tyres changed at ATS Euromaster in Morley, Leeds and the fools pumped them up to double the recommended pressure. For several miles, I couldn't work out why the car rear end felt like it was dancing on ice. Eventually I checked the onboard gauge and noticed the insane readings and deflated them at a garage (the tyre pressure warning only comes on if too low, the manufacturer clearly don't expect anyone to be so stupid to try inflating a tyre rated at 35psi to 70+ psi)

the moral: don't get your tyres changed at ATS Morley unless you're into 'drifting'.

Sadly these types of stories are not rare. I have had new cars delivered with incorrect pressures and cars returned from services with reduced pressures. Trust no-one and have a trusted gauge. That's all you can do really.

A quick 3. The flood of green on the third attempt surprised me.

A rather fraught five

XXYXY

This took a little time as the letter it ended with was the last one I considered :-(

A swift and confident five

The first three factfinders didn't find much but did rule out a lot. The fourth came to me quite quickly and left only two options, one of which was already eliminated. A good result from a poor start

Usual three factfinders had a rather bad day and didn't find many positives, an inspired fourth disappointed but convinced me of the first letter, I had high hopes for the unusual fifth and again was disappointed, happily I could think of only one last attempt that did not include any known wrong letters ad more happily still, it was correct. Phew!

Friday, 26th January, start 13:00

Early start today as all the other regulars are either missing or early as well due to other commitments. Having no desire to train alone I too trained early to avoid this

Barbell bent row

20 x 10
30 x 10
40 x 10
50 x 10
60 x 10
70 x 10

Deadlift
30 x 3
40 x 3
50 x 3
60 x 3
70 x 3
80 x 3
90 x 3
100 x 3
110 x 3
120 x 3
130 x 3

All done and dusted by three, away early and unusually busy traffic was the only drawback

As I see it I had the choice of two for the third attempt, so why not go for the wrong one first ?
