goal - compete at the next level about ESM.

this wasnt really about me, I want to hear what others are shooting for and why. its definately on my list of possibles. its not entirely that simple tho. goals have to be realistic and measurable. 'being successful' isnt that easy to measure and, looking at it im not convinced ill ever do anything at esm that I could describe in that way. plus, I like oly lifting so that might be another road to travel.

Not actually kidding here, but I'd like to be able to roll a car over.
I also want to press a man overhead. I've always considered 16 stone a large man, so if I could press a 16 stone large man overhead, that'd be life completed.

Flipping a car would be badass.

I also want massive mutton chops.

When I set up my youtube page in November 2012 when I first started strongman training I wrote on there it was a road to Englands Most Powerful Man (novice) 2013. I also stated it was a comp I wanted to win. For me, that was a big goal.

I won it.

Now the next goal is not to finish last in my first Open comp and to get a 300kg deadlift before the summer is out.

fair play. I dont think I could maintain my focus just generally training for pb's. I need 'a thing' to do.

At this junction perhaps you can consider options outside the 4 walls of your local gymnasium. While strength training does have a degree of self improvement in that you need good willpower and discipline there are other avenues, endurance being one. I stopped lifting completely around this time last year, took up running, and because I had that inherent drive to better oneself, I got hooked on seeing how far I could run before I felt like throwing up my spleen.

I've done the endurance thing before (although I still need to check a triathlon of the list). Strongman isn't developed enough here so I can't aim for qualifiers or things like that. Basically I'm stuck with the quest for PBs both in the gym and on the occasional PL/WL platform, and improving my standing in the odd strongman comp.

Long term goals:

Squat 250
BP 160
DL 300
P 100
Cl+J 150
Sn 100
