I think there are two ways to view this: 1/ Britain has two top ranking athletes that are proving that they can consistantly be among the best in the World,and now is the time to promote these guys at home in the same way Geoff Capes did in the 80s.By seeing these guys on the telly and getting the chance to compete against them the domestic scene growths in strength and stature thereby creating the future talent to keep british strongmen competitive. 2/There are two British guys that stand out at a top level,therefore there is no need to run a BSM as we have our two top guys and they can continue to be selected to compete in International qualifiers.To hell with the domestic scene,we'll worry about that when Terry and Loz are either retired or broken to bits. The optimist in me hopes that people will take a longer term view and run the BSM,irrespective of TV OR not. The pessimist in me expects the short term non thinking later approach.Thoughts?

Red Bull is banned in netball Member 799, 1484 posts	I have heard various rumours that its on, its on but there won't be any qualifiers and that Darren has secured some good shows for British athletes, linked in with BSM. At this point, who knows what will actually happen. I think it needs to happen for the sport and to make selection fair and see through, but I don't make the call. Colin Bryce heavily hinted on FB that it would be back, so we are on the right track, but how it evolves is still open for speculation.

Member 1227, 152 posts	I'd love to see BSM brought back, IMO we currently have the best athletes Britain has ever produced. Wouldnt like the idea of no qualifiers but if its the only way to bring it back then it would have to do. Could think of at least 12-15 guys that would be good enough for a final

Scotland, England, Ireland & Wales fighting it out for the title of the strongest man in Britain. Im sure a few new & old faces would put on an amazing show, with shocks all day Would love to watch it but suppose like many people have said maybe money is a bigger factor than doing the correct thing..................

I seem to remember they didnt - too many international comps anyway going on at the same time to be able to.
