Also just to mention had WSM been on top of the rules that they set Brian would of come third last year after the power stairs as Thor did it in the wrong order in comparison to everyone else. So Brian hadn't of dropped the bag on the loading medley in sun city in the final he would of podium last year. He has the speed , power and strength for the title and I doubt Z would deny this.

The support for terry on here was far better than last year and hope this continues because when your in the s**tty country's this is one of a few websites you can see and theres nothing better than hearing home country support.

Thor is one to watch as his shoulder press is improving with everything else. Jenkins and Burke are insanely strong so it would surprise me to see them podium in the coming years.

Hopefully Loz recovers and gets back to form as he's looking better year by year with little surprises like the British deadlift record

Still the best that there's been

If he didn't pull 445 I presume there was a reason as he's capable of it n more.

Good to see Thor podium again that guy is a future wsm in my opinion[/quote

Absolutely agree !!

I think Z retired on 420 kg because of torn hands from the frame carry and hams injury . Z is a smart guy ..1 ponint more on dead wouldn't make enough difference for the stones . So he probably was pleased with second on deadlift . No way Shaw beat him for max !

At that point Z had to win the dead to keep alive his hopes. He didn't. Has anyone seen Z pull 450? I don't think so.

The simple fact is the only thing that Z is better than Shaw at is overhead, Shaw is the better strongman

Thanks for the support everyone. It really means a lot. After day 1 I was realistic about my goals and genuinely knew I could have podiumed again. As far as my back problem im getting booked in for an mri this week to see whats going on. It could be that I dont have a choice on whether I retire or not. Things are pretty messed up and my foot has been numb for 2 days now.

As far as the debate regarding z and brian. Both are awesome. This year brian deserved to win, he out deadlifted z. There was no torn callouses from z. I have no doubt z can deadlift more than 420 but on that day he didn't. Trust me the conditions were grueling and I think brians planning with food, supps and drips with him was a very smart move.

I believe z took the record for most podiums at wsm ever. I may have equalled the record for consecutive finals too.

Hope the MRI results are good Terry. I hope that this time next year you hold the record for most consecutive finals on your own.

Brilliant performance on day 1.
