Unless you forget to turn on the slow cooker, it'll be fantastic. Grin

Jabba / VG - Where do you get your brisket from? Went the Aldi yesterday and it was £6.79/kg.

I've had some from Aldi, was good. Seem to recall it being about £5.90/kg?

A butcher on the market should be around a fiver per kilo too.

We're less than 3 miles from two farm shops and a good meat market. We bulk buy, usually stocking up on things they have on offer and freezing them.

VG, still very interested in a one pot fish and rice dish mate.

Recipe is finalised, just need to do a test run and write it up. Working around 60 hours a week at the moment so bear with me. Absolutely loving work at the moment though so don't think I'm moaning, just very busy. Hopefully will be sorted at the weekend.

Drew, cheap and cheerful is the way forward in my opinion. Look to spend 15 - 20 quid.

Got this one in the cooker now...

Going to do some roast potatoes and peas with it. Can't wait!

Does it make a stew or will the beef be 'slice-able' like a roast?

On that note I've come up with a cake bar / flapjack which kicks in just under 500kcals a slice. 22gr protein, 52gr carbs and 20gr fat (50:50 sat/unsat) and it tastes nice, rather than chalky or powdery like a lot of shop bought bars.

I'll stick the recipe up tomorrow Happy
