Steve
Do the general public have anywhere near enough knowledge to be allowed to vote on such an important matter?

Or do the experts have so little idea about what will actually happen that it doesn't really matter?

What do you think - should we stay or should we go?
slimsim
Personally I think we should leave. Nobody, absolutely nobody, knows what is going to happen if we do leave but the 'remain' campaign seem obsessed with using the biggest scaremongering tactics possible.

I'd happily be a few quid a year worse off if it means we can take control of this country and decide as a population what we see as being important issues. And that's not me being xenophobic towards people wanting to come to the uk. As I saw on Facebook recently, if a foreigner who has only basic English skills, no contacts and limited uk work experience takes your job then you were undeserving of it in the first place!!

The biggest gripe seems to be the money we pay to the EU which, according to the EU reforendum voting guide published by the Electoral Commission is about £350m a week. A hefty figure for sure. I did a few simple sums then (if there are such sums around this subject) taken from both the stay and leave arguments. We have around 30m earners on the books with a national average of £26,500. Forgetting NI, corporation, road, inheritance, customs and excise and VA Tax, and just sticking with income tax the average tax payer stumps up just short of £60 a week tax. Of this we pay (£350m/30m=) less than £12 a week per person to stay in the EU. All of a sudden it's not such a scary figure so for me that's off the table as a decider.
Bottom line is the official 'non biased' nationally issued documentation to help me decide seems full of contradictions. I don't think anyone knows what the effects of a move either way will be.
One thing that has pissed me off recently are all the FB memes telling me that I'll have to register specifically to vote in this referendum and what a bunch of lying s**thouses the govt are. A quick look online tells me that as long as I'm on the electoral register I'm good to go in a months time. On a personal level I think I'll vote towards the side that leaves me feeling the least cynical rather than the most empowered. I also like doing the Euro lottery.

Needless to say I took the same stance as I have with religion and creation, and came to the conclusion that I don't have the knowledge, information or intelligence to come to a 'yes' or 'no' decision. I don't think we should be stopping migrants like this coming to our sandy shores - http://misseuropeworld.org/contestants-2016.html

Next to Miss Estonia, Miss England looks like a right miserable cow!!! Bet the rest of the EU can't wait to get rid of us if this is how we look to them!

everyone should exercise thier right to vote! just go and write some loals on the ballot paper.
THATS the freedom we have in this country.

I could bang on about this for hours, but in the end, no matter how much I dislike the other team (plenty), I'm always going to be rooting for the side with Boris, Galloway, Gove, Farage, and Rupert Murdoch on to get f**king shafted. These people really aren't on your side.

In my humble, natch.

I did draw or write something silly on a ballot paper once, but I can't remember what. Don't think it was a phallus.

I'd happily allow miss Lithuania in legally or illegally!!

On a more serious note I don't think we will ever see any completely impartial information on the pros and cons. I was always in the stay camp but the more scare stories I hear the more I think the government doesn't have any real reasons to stay in and we would be better off out.
