A fairly quick but rather grim five

I went for it after the first attempt, I didn't take enough care over this, but didn't believe that there were too many possible options, but I didn't believe that with one hundred percent conviction. Relieved.

A very simple four

As the new openers worked so well yesterday, I worked on the principle of lightning not striking twice and used the old ones today. I hummed and erred a bit over whether or not to use the third opener or to just go for it. Decided to use it and what a fine decision that turned out to be.

137 x 3

The third rep at 130 was a grinder and I was loathe to go directly to 140 as was the intention. I opted therefore to go for small increments as shown above, the 137 was decided, by wiser heads than mine, to be all out and therefore best to stop there. That was really music to my ears. Many thanks to all the Adlington regulars for their assistance tonight but especially to Phil the Behemoth who is, possibly, the finest encourager I have ever had the good fortune to meet.

Was it 137 or in fact 137.5?

137.5. And the 132 was 132.5

I have long practised the habit of missing the .5 off the end. This was before the practice of weightlifters using whole numbers only when 130, 132.5, 135 etc were your only real options.

It is done from, one - laziness and two, a more pleasing look for the columns of numbers.

I have on occasion when benching, used the incremental plates and gone 60, 61, 62, 63 etc and indeed I have a PB deadlift of 202.0. This however is rare and explained in the accompanying text.

Late start as I was listening to the Cheltenham Gold Cup on the car radio. I had a rare bet of one of the creatures in it which served only to remind me why I don't bet anymore. Anywho
