Well , I ran the 2024 manchester marathon - covered the 26.2 miles in 3 hours 51 minutes - a lifetime PB (2023 time was 4:05 ... 2013 time was 3:56)

I am done with endurance running, I am 70kg .... 5kg lighter than i was in 2022.

I have now set myself a goal

British Indoor Rowing Championships December 2024

Not rowed more than a few 1000 meters in the last 18 months ..... I sold my (4th) rower ... I have some sort of mental thing with buying n selling rowers.

getting to sub 7 in 7 months is quite a challenge for a weak old man with no rower.

as you know Ned, Rowing is uniquely savage , unrivalled for exposing weakness ... which is why i keep on returning to its bosom.

I first fell in love with concept 2 rowing training for the Exertrain winter warrior competition in which there was a 2km row (ofcourse I was just happy to be there , but I did win)

as the concept 2 rowers are at the gym, I will be weight training aswell as a little running (I have the Hackney Half marathon in a few weeks)

there's a 2000m challenge at the boxing club i think the fastest anyone's done is 7.20 the owner keeps ragging me to try it but i watched somone else do it but they looked like they were having a stroke at the end so i keep giving it a swerveGrin

Thanks for the support chaps.

Give it a go Ned you lazy grandad , got a 7:30 in you for sure.

I recall that you are indeed.....colossal , I dont expect to be at my best but when i last did some rowing, it was lockdown , so this is a nice chance to get back to proper competing , so let me know if you decide to go.

Absolute superstar JT , I suspect that would be more of a rower theft due to my living 100+ miles away Grin I would obviously splash out on the drinks.
