Interesting post Aaron, did you do that with the lights off ?

Nah it's the dog and bone doing a double post and it didn't delete everything. Anyway there's a club meeting in a few weeks and no doubt there will be things from that meeting that someone will have to action.

What is the world coming to ?
I wonder how many words there are that have changed or are changing their meaning or adding new meanings to the point that sometimes the old one is frowned upon.
Mouse is an obvious one from the pre-computer age. I believe the plural is mouses where the cheese nibbling, squeaky things is mice.
Window is now more that a piece of glass in the wall. They now occur in diaries.
Queer and Gay simply meant odd and happy respectively until relatively recently.
Window and Mouse are still perfectly usable in their old senses. Queer is less certain, and Gay has pretty much changed over to the new completely
Those are the most obvious, I will add more as and when I think of them.

The word action has changed it used to be a description of something now it means to do something.

And any Ray Williams lift since about 2016. Happy

Squat high in training equals squatting high in comp. People seem to think it doesn't apply to him.

Never ! Never while I draw breath.
Most fails are the lifter trying to do it right but failing because they mess it up.
Jumping a command fall into two categories, loosing your balance at the top of a squat and therefore racking early or loosing your grip at the completion of a deadlift and therefore lowering too quickly are acceptable as your hand is being forced, but jumping the press command - is that not cheating ? Akin to a false start in a 100 metres ?
Over the years I have watched numerous weightlifting competition and have seen British records set where the bar was nowhere near under control, it was over the lifter's head and the refs have gifted him the record as in one instance the lifter was still moving across the platform, he got the down command and the hell off the platform and not once since the commencement of the lift had actually been still.
See that bonnet ? It's mine. See that insect inside it ? It's a bee. It has "commands" written all over it.

I'm not sure if Turner has the wherewithal to cheat.

Hell yeah. Not because it was him, I enjoy that with anyone. He beat the press command as well but that may have gone un-noticed by the casual observer, so he had failed from then on, the careless and hasty rack was a bonus

I noticed he jumped the press but o thought you'd have let him off with that because you did say it quite fast after he started it. As a bit of trivia Turner is the only lifter I've seen try to lift the same deadliftr twice on the same attempt and get it passed. Alan went mad.

Did I detect a sense of Glee yesterday when you gave Turner the rack command after he reracked his bench?

Fatpete said:Skyracer was done at five, bought it last week, set it last Saturday - bang on - at five o' clock, today it was still bang on after exactly one week. Today I had to change it but now we have a seven month stretch before it has to be changed again, so now we can see how long it takes it to lose or gain one second.

Can't beat British summer time.

The eggs are on the table ? What does that mean in English ? My knowledge of French is not great, like most of my school days I used to get punched a lot. A fist, regardless of its owner speaks in one language only.
Why the capital letters for "la" ?
Questions aside, it is a kindly offer, but I couldn't ask you to do that, it's far too big an ask.

It's how it comes out when I type it in the phone. It's not too big an ask I like travel every now and again.

I used to train with a guy from Latvia who was quite a nice bloke but came from a tragic background. When he was about 3-4 his father fell foul of the local mob boss which resulted in him being deposited in portions in the family bin. Whilst the mother took said young son and fled to the Manchester burbs for safety straight after, the young man struggled to let it go and openly admitted that all his training was to enable him to return and let vendetta run it's course. Hopefully he was able to move on, but I doubt it. Life eh? Unhappy

You should write a book about your life in lifting and the people you've met.

As a previous post has indicated it is probably more accurate that recording it as you drive

Google Maps.

9 miles for me from my house, I did look it up once.
