Cheers man, I am. I for once in my life am going to err on the side of caution.

Didn't have a chance to get to the physio today. so my injury combined with the cold I seem to have developed made this session very short and sweet to avoid further damage.

Weighted chins
bw 10
45kg 2
25kg 6
25kg 6
25kg 6

First set felt heavier than it should have and this annoys me.

Paused close grip bench press
70kg 10
100kg 1
135kg 4
120kg 6

Had to drop weight after 135 as I got a cramp under my armpit and din't feel like doing anything even slightly close to effort after this, in case of injury.

Rope pressdown
40kg 10
40kg 10
40kg 10

seated unsupported strict dumbbell curl
25s 12
25s 12
25s 12

The plan is to get my injury fixed, stretch out my slightly battered upper body and eat loads of food to hopefully get back to full strength by my bench session on monday.
» Who made you do this ? (Go to post)04-01-2013 @ 22:28
Triple H for me. And watching Mariusz Pudzianowki on WSM.

Hardly worth writing this session up really. Oddly felt very strong but my slight injury is stopping me from doing much. My leg is very shakey under even a small load and no drive at all. Physio tomorrow to get it sorted hopefully. I know what it is, it's not a big issue to fix but when it acts up it is crippling.

squat
60kg 5
110kg 5 ( felt like air, in all honesty it doesn't feel any harder doing these than air squats)
160kg 1 ( piss easy, super fast, felt like 100 used to)
210kg f ( stupidly big jump but was feeling good, leg was having none of this, was hard to keep steady to start the squat and couldn't bring myself to push hard from the bottom so just left it onto the rack
210kg same again ( I know I can squat this at ease when in full health so not too worried, judging by last week should have been good for 2 reps if my leg hadn't been acting the bollix)

band squat with 2 blue bands
140kg 5
140kg 5

kept it light and didn't push too much to avoid any serious damage. I'll most likely be needing that leg for my comp.

Good session today. Still feeling a bit rough though and appear to have picked up another niggling injury.

weighted chin up
bw 10
40kg 4
40kg 3
20kg 8
20kg 8

standing strict press
60kg 5
92.5kg 3 then 6 push press
82.5kg 4
82.5kg 4
60kg 10

paused close grip bench press
100kg 1
130kg 4
130kg 3
100kg 12

kirk row
130kg 15
130kg 15
130kg 12

sin e. tired but happy enough. close grip bench felt strong considering all the work beforehand.

Short session today as I was not feeling well at all. But still managed to do well overall.

Squat
60kg 5
100kg 5
150kg 1
180kg 1
207.5kg 2 Weight and rep pb
207.5kg 1
Left it at that as I was pushing my luck as it was.

paused squat
170kg 5
170kg 5
170kg 3

Not bad, very happy to be able to double 207.5 casually on a bad day. Hopefully this will translate to a nice big pb on the 19th of January.

seated strict simultaneous dumbbell curl ( no back support)
25s 12
25s 12
25s 12

sin e.

Good session today. Went fairly easy as I was trying out new stuff and my hip/glute is still in bits for this kind of stuff.

12 inch box squat ( one of the gym staff made a load of plyo boxes)
60kg 1
100kg 1
110kg 6
110kg 6
110kg 6
Oddly difficult to squat from this depth. Felt uncomfortable on my left knee for some reason so didn't tear the arse out of it. May be too low considering my squat stance.

deadlift stance 12 inch box squat
65kg 6
65kg 6
65kg 6
found it hard to drive out off the box with my legs so close together, but managed to keep the desired straight up and down line. Hopefully these will help my deadlift which for some reason has now fallen behind my squat in terms of progression.
Hip acting up badly today after these. Most likely will go see my magic physio soon and hopefully when I'm actually 100% my deadlift will be up where it should be.
seated strict simultaneous hammer curl ( no back support)
30s 10
30s 10
30s 10
30s 10

Done for today. Quick bench session tomorrow morning now and then off for two days. Hopefully I'm not the only one in the gym as I need a spotter

Great session tonight. Hit some nice new pbs here.

Weighted chin ups
bw 10
35kg 4
35kg 4
35kg 4
15kg 10

standing strict press
60kg 5
90kg 4
90kg 3
80kg 5
60kg 10

paused close grip bench press
100kg 2
122.5kg 6
122.5kg 5
122.5kg 5

powershrug
100kg 1
150kg 1
200kg 1
250kg 1
300kg 3
300kg 3
Felt awesome to shrug 300kg. Didn't feel that heavy in my hands either. Hopefully will get up to maybe 6-8 good reps with this weight before comp. Very happy now, wanted to do 300 before christmas and nailed it.

strict shrug with pause at the top
200kg 6
200kg 5

felt very light after the 300kg powershrugs

sin e. Off to eat loads of food now and maybe have a drink.
» Lifting heavy things and eating cows (Go to post)20-12-2012 @ 23:06
Great session tonight. Still not feeling 100% yet strength was up.
squat
70kg 5
110kg 3
160kg 1
180kg 1
200kg 2 ( smacked into the rack on the way out and nearly fell on my arse, had another in me but couldn't bring myself to drop down again)
200kg 2
200kg 2
All these reps were fast and easy and according to my spotter who kept nipping to the side to have a look were way below parallel. In terms of depth and speed this is the best squatting I've ever done. Very much on target for january. My slightly unrealistic squat target looks like it will actually go now.
Walkouts
230kg just waked this out and held it for a while and walked it back in. Actually felt light enough to try squatting but I reigned in my recklessness a bit. Most likely would have nowhere near gone but confident it will go sooner rather than later

squat against two blue bands
160kg plus bands 5
160kg plus bands 5
160kg plus bands 5

Very easy. Never would have guessed at the start of the year that 160 for 5s would feel so light, let alone go up so fast and easy with the band tension. Feeling good now.

Did not feel well today and my session went badly. Hips and lower back were very tight even after the drive to the gym so was not expecting much.
Deadlift
60kg 5
100kg 5
150kg 1
200kg 1
230kg 1 ( stupidly easy, didn't need chalk, despite s**tty bar, and my belt was on but quite loose)
250kg f got to the knees and my hips wouldnt allow me to lock it out. Didn't feel heavy just no drive there
250kg f same again
Was expected a nice double at 250 today and very pissed off with myself not to get it.
good mornings
110kg 1
140kg 3
110kg 6
These felt really hard today too and decided to be safe and not injure myself

bent over row
140kg 3
110kg 12
110kg 12
110kg 12
No strength today at all, just felt dead on my feet so deloaded a bit and did some high rep stuff

seated strict simultaneous dumbell curls ( no back support)
22.5s 12
22.5s 12
22.5s 12
22.5s 12

Bad session but a bit of rest and possibly a physio visit should see me back on track. I know I'm stronger than ever overall just need to iron out a few issues and I'll be back on form and hit the numbers I should be hitting.

Cheers fella! My goal is getting closer, just need to keep the eye on the prize.

Good session tonight. Didn't eat much beforehand and felt weak but still put in a good performance so not too shabby. Will be expecting much more next week.
Paused Bench press
60kg 20
100kg 5
120kg 1 ( got my set up right and this felt much lighter than 100, I'm a bit hit and miss with my setup on occasion these days.)
142.5kg 3
142.5kg 3
142.5kg 3
Not bad, may be a rep pb. Definitely have more in me on a better day too. I'm still on track for my comp target.

Negative bench press ( lowered to a 5 count)
160kg 2
170kg 2

170 felt very light and easy going down until about an inch over the chest then it felt very heavy. But overall very happy with how easy these were. 2 weeks time I may jump to 180 or even 185.

paused Band bench press with green iron woody band
90kg 3
80kg 5
80kg 5
80kg 5
80kg 8
Felt good here, got more drive on the last set than the others. Not bad after those negatives. Lockout feeling smoother than before, close grip bench definitely a good idea.

Seated lateral raise ( no back support)
22.5s 10
22.5s 8
17.5s 10
17.5s 10

I feel I'm progressing well these days, just need to hammer down more food and I should see some good numbers falling.
» Lifting heavy things and eating cows (Go to post)16-12-2012 @ 19:32
Terrible session today. My hips were very tight and sore and I couldn't get any leg drive on my sumo deads so they were a disaster. Head not in it at all today either, shouldn't have bothered really.

Sumo Deadlift
60kg 5
100kg 5
150kg 1 ( painful)
200kg 1 pulled entirely stiff legged my legs just refused to work at all.
230kg couldn't bring myself to really try as I knew I'd be risking further injury.

barbell holds ( double overhand thumbless grip on the smooth part of the bar)
100kg for many sets

Seated simultaneous strict hammers curls ( no back support)
30s 12
30s 10
30s 10

That was it for the day. Hopefully my hips will loosen up for training next week. Should have a better session tomorrow.
