Yeah I really hate push pressing, as you saw, lol. Going to keep them in and work on them, great strength exercise and I'm just being a wufter by not doing them.

Your pressing was daft. you f******g big Billy. Grin

Nice few sessions mate. The reps will add up & count!

Cheers. Yeah hope so. The reps are working, I must admit. The weightlifts are much less like a mental exercise that they were before and I am feeling a lot more comfortable at them at the min, so happy with that.

Quick and dirty one today. Trained with the Unit himself and got schooled, lol. Irony is come Sept/Oct I will be teaching him.

Snatch + 2 Hang Snatch + Overhead squats
40 x 1 + 2 + 1
50 x 1 + 2 + 1
60 x 1 + 2 + 1
70 x 1 + 2 + 1

Strict press, paused
50 x 3
60 x 2
70 x 2
80 x 2
85 x 2
90 x 1
85 x 2 x 2

Push Press
80 x 2
90 x 2
100 x 2 (nearly lost 2nd behind)

Neutral pullups
Bw x 8
10kg x 8
20kg x 9

Overhand Pullups
BW x 8-10 x 4

Mid-trap raises
7kg x 15 x 4

Rear delt raises
7.5kg x 15
10kg x 15 x 4

Bit forward on the snatch, was just going through the motions really and using the OH squat to stretch. Bad habit that, need to treat each rep the same.

Working in with Andy Coupe, thought about a few light snatches tonight again to see how the hand feels. Working in with the Coupe meant I did a bit more than I had planned.

Snatch
40 x3,x3,x3
60 x2
80 x1
85 x1
90 x1 bee-you-tee-full
Distinct lack of leg strength but have to be pleased with these. Hand was virtually pain free, it's probably the fourth or fifth time I've snatched since the British Masters last March, and I've not exactly got any consistent training in recently. Snatches are great. Grin

Snatch Pull
95 x3,x3
110 x3,x3,x3

Press
50 x5
60 x5
65 x5x5x5
50 x10,x8,x6

Low Pulley Row
5x10

Clean the Adders toilet x1

Got a good sweat on tonight, enjoyed having another weightlifter around!!

Awesome. Its ace when snatching goes right isn't it? So motivating. I feel you pain (literally) with the hand issue. Hope everything goes OK.

Squats were really tough.

YES! I know what you are saying about snatch. I rush the lift like mad and am always trying to sneak under rather than be controlled and sure to finish the lift. Someone once told me that I need to be patient, trust my pull and then wait until it feels like I am too late then go.

Should really remind myself of that more often.

Adlington with Jeff, Pete & Aaron...
Inconsistent on the snatches tonight. I think I was under pressure with coach Jeff analysing Grin
Snatch
40x2
50x2
60x2
70x2
80x2
85f
90x1
95f
85x1
90x1
95x1
A few fails in there but when I got one "right" it felt light as a feather until I had to release the bar, ouch!
Power Clean and push press
60x3
80x3
90x2
100x2
105x2
Squat
70x5,5
100x3
120x2
140x2
150x2
160x2x6 Tough!!

Nice session mate. Squats sound nasty! I find that if someone watches me it goes one of two ways. The added pressure either makes me switch on and everything feels amazing or I start microanalysing everything because I don't want to look like a nob, which usually results in me fluffing it and looking like a nob, strangely.

Unhappy

60 x 2 + 1
80 x 2 + 1
90 x 2 + 1
100 x 2 + 1 x 2
95 x 3 + 1 x 2

Front Squats

Cheers mate,I really appreciate that. I do what I can to push him hard when he needs it. I'm improving because I get to train with someone who moves really, really well and I guess he improves because I'll tell him if he is being a ponce and should put more weight on the bar (and vice versa). Grin

& doing it well mate. No stone left unturned with that little lot.
Are you still trying to keep up with the young fella?

Yes mate, yeah. He clearly lifts a lot more than me but we basically go set for set and rep for rep with the same percentages. Little bugger is so efficient though. This weekend he hang cleaned 150. Bear in mind that he doesn't front squat that much more than that!

Trained most days since last post but was rubbish at logging it here.

Start of next few weeks today and it felt great, feel really well conditioned after that last block. Anyway:

Squats
60 x 3
100 x 3
120 x 2
130 x 1
140 x 1
150 x 1

142.5 x 5
135 x 5
130 x 5

Snatch from block (mid-thigh)
40 x 3
50 x 3
60 x 2
70 x 2
80 x 2
82.5 x 2 x 2
77.5 x 3 x 2

Cleans
60 x 2
80 x 2
90 x 1
100 x 1
105 x 1
110 x 1
107.5 x 2 x 2
105 x 3 x 2

Jerk Dips
90 x 5
120 x 5
140 x 5
150 x 5
160 x 5

Power Jerk
60 x 3
80 x 3
90 x 2
100 x 1
105 x 1
107.5 x 1 (awesome rep, best I've done I think really effort less)
110 x 1 x 3

Moved the blocks down for snatches and it feels really different; actually have some pull now. Back off sets on 77.5 were really nice, pleased with the last set. Still wouldn't say I've figured out how to do snatch from blocks yet but getting better and wish every power jerk would be like that one set. Need to figure out what I did and replicate it if I can.

120x1
140x1
150x1 (pretty easy)

Klokov press
40x10
60x8
80x5
My mate challenged me at this point so we put 100 on
100x2 (PB I've failed 100 about 4 times so getting it for two felt good, my mate lost lol)

Normal grip behind he neck press
100x3 (PB)

Rear delt raises
9's 3x20

Bench press

How'd you rate the normal-grip behind neck press? I'm really stale overhead at the min and need to change things around.
