» Which belt is best? (Go to post)29-09-2011 @ 16:47
I've got a 13mm Inzer forever lever belt and they are the best you can buy.

I got mine from Andy Bolton, but I don't think he still sells them.

Your prediction was not correct.

Live scoreboard here: http://sportscore.info/

Obviously not much happening until lifting starts at 10am. List of lifters should go up between 9 and 10.

Do any of you remember when the yoke was two motorbikes (think it was BSM 2003). That was ridiculously hard... hope the tyres (tires - since they're American) are easier than that.

That's shocking Steve. I had a look at the ingredients for those products and they don't mention MHA by any of it's known names. So there is indeed no way anybody could have known.

[Edit: NOX Pump, on the other hand, mentions Geranium Root Extract and thus it is clear it's not okay for WADA tested athletes IN COMPETITION]

I presume you've all seen this? http://www.theworldsstrongestman.com/2011-wsm/2712/

I thought they were keeping it all secret?!

As far as rounding weights goes, the rule is that you round down to the nearest pound when reporting a weight that has been lifted in a competition. e.g. If you lift 317.5kg then it is reported as 699lbs even though it is 699.96 or thereabouts. The reason for this is simple: did you lift 700lbs? No, not quite. You see?

Given the fact that Pete's bodyweight was reported to one decimal place and he was probably not using calibrated scales and merely electing not to report a number of other decimal places which were all zero (e.g. weight was actually 134.7000) then it's fair to say 297.

But not in competition, when the rules dictate that calibrated weights were used and convention dictates that the kilo to pound conversion is rounded down.

I use 7mm Rehbands. I've got XL and they are mega tight, so certainly don't slip down at all. They are great.
» Where has Tony gone? (Go to post)16-09-2011 @ 13:07
I remember first meeting Tony about five years ago (I think it was when I first met Boar). They are both really nice lads and made a lovely couple.

Boar: Are you still in touch with him?
» Is is site any good? (Go to post)16-09-2011 @ 13:03
The site in general is really useful and has tons of great info on it. I expect those lifts are quite good if used as has been advised in this thread. Obviously they are not elite lifts for those of you who are on s**t-loads of gear and competing internationally - or maybe you just are elite and you should deal with it! Happy

Sounds like Mick Maloney!

Wow! That does look like the photo I took Jabba. I wasn't sure how to find it. Look at the size of James's right upper arm compared to KK's head!

On another note, good to see you're still alive old friend.
