It would be great to see more top guys there, trouble is you've got guys that compete at world level like hall and gearing but alot of the competitors are no where near that level so choosing weights is either gonna lead to loads of no reps or weights that everyone can manage but are gonna be mega easy for the top guys

Member 1227, 152 posts	I always enjoy uk's. Dont know why Glenn gets so much stick. He's done loads for strongman in the UK and has got a lot of tv coverage for his competion. Even this years BSM didnt attract interest from tv stations. Would love to see Loz compete next year

embarrasingly poor bench Member 2684, 4043 posts SQ 240, BP 135, DL 275 650.0 kgs @ 103kgs UnEq	Have to agree with the other comments in the thread, although I respect Glenn greatly for all he has done to promote the sport in the UK but his events are generally shockingly boring. Also, while I understand what he is trying to do by including a wrestling, or as he refers to it a "mano a mano", event each year they are generally really boring and lead to a lot of injuries, this compass thing being a prime example. Glenn showed that he can put on an entertaining comp with the juniors, just a shame he can't replicate it for the seniors.

Member 2267, 2 posts SQ 290, BP 180, DL 300 770.0 kgs @ 128kgs UnEq	Yes, the weights need to be lighter lol its the uks ultimate strongman! its a brutal heavy comp designed to find out just who is the strongest guy in the uk. if the weights were lighter then the fitter men would steal points and it would be less impressive to see guys doing 10 or more reps of a 120kg log etc etc. all the events are changed every year to keep the competition interesting (remember next year is the uks tenth year). the general public would be bored s**tless if the same events were there every year - lets face it WSM is a bit boring and predictable now events wise. Glenn invests huge ammounts of money developing new equipment and events that most promoters are too lazy to do or too greedy to spend their money on! look at the hercules hold tonight for example, a world class piece of kit. we should be happy to have such a great competition to compete in with even better tv coverage.

Alot of the guys in Edd halls group looked way way off the standard. To be fair the only interesting thing about the comp was Edd halls performance loads of brute force which was cool.
