I'm feeling more confident with every session.
Going to finish this cycle of 5/3/1 on log and squats then start playing with the weights set for the comp in March. Would be nice to have more atlas stones though.

Usual warm up

70kg x 5
80kg x 3
90kg x 6/7 lost count ( belt, wrist wraps, knee sleeves )
Short session today as it was a max effort and wanting to keep energy levels good for tomorrow and didn't want to stress the cns too much.
Happy enough with the number of reps achieved today.

Today's short tale
Time was an issue today so had to be brief.
Usual warmup
125kg atlas stone over 46" x 8 ( tape tacky )
Done my usual 2 layers of tape and had no issues. Reps felt good. Done today's stone without a tshirt, didn't notice much difference. Apart from the size of my nipples cause it was about 3 degrees in the cave.
Axle deadlifts DOH ( wee test of grip after seeing shortandmighty doing these yesterday )

90kg x 4
130kg x 2
140kg x 1 ( chalk )
150kg x 1 ( chalk )
155kg x F ( chalk )
When I say axle I don't use an actual axle bar, I use a length of scaffold bar cut to 7ft that weighs 10kg. Does the same job.

Training today at Glasgow strength
Was in 2 minds whether to train today or not as I had a very poor sleep lastnight, blocked sinuses and sore throat and generally feeling achy but decided to give it a go anyways
Usual warmup
Yoke
140kg x 10m, drop turn 10m
240kg x 10m ( belt sleeves )
290kg x 10m ( belt sleeves ) 1 drop, elbows dropped so did the weight. Felt comfortable apart from that.
240kg x 10m dropped off some weight ( removed belt )
140kg x 10m
Reverse hypers s/s with weighted crunches
10kg x 10, 5kg x 10. 2 sets
Weight back extensions s/s with weighted plank
10kg x 10, 10kg x 75seconds. 2 sets

Not having much luck lately, loaded with the man flu and a throat infection so my head was saying don't train and rest but with about 4 weeks till the Scottish U90's I really need to get the finger out and start playing with the weights set for the comp.

110kg x F, F clean was easy enough and could get it off the chest/shoulders but that was it. Think with more focused leg drive, maybe some elbow sleeves and fresh it's there.
That was it. Happy with the effort considering my physical state. Mentally I'm there. Next time I'll go for the 110kg before doing reps of the 100kg.

feeling ill and still put a sesh in like that is good going. The 110's there man, smash it next sesh

Horrible squattage
Putting this down to using knee wraps for the 1st time in years, done the Nelson tread technique. Felt horrible!
Weights didn't feel heavy but couldn't get any momentum with the wraps on. The couple of fails took it out me and the rest is history as they say. Still a bit under the weather which didn't help either.
Squats aren't looking good for the Scottish.

Not the worst session ever, the 110kg log will be there in a couple of weeks I feel just in time for the comp.
the squats however, well had new knee wraps today and they did feel better each set I used them. Bloody painful all the same! The 200kg I hope will go for the comp, need to do 1 rep at least with the lower weight at the comp. failed the 200 today but did feel a bit more confident with it than last time.

Annoyed at my squat performance lately I decided to venture into the cave this morning as I had a spare bit of time and need the sessions with the heaveir weights and knee wraps.
Didn't bother too much with a warm up of such.

90kg x 10 ( knee sleeves )
130kg x 5 ( knee sleeves )

Done my wraps today in the standard spiral fashion which didn't feel as tight as the Nelson tread but tight all the same.
The 190 was on the limit, but a pb so happy for now. Step in the right direction.
