lifting straps or hooks?

Keeping in mind general wrist strength and working on it ! but there are times when my grip is not strong enough for the weight I am lifting so the question is straps or Hooks are they of use

I heard of a guy in't gym who once used hooks for his heaviest Deadlift's.
He later died in a car accident that VERY same week.
Clearly there's no way of proving the two incidents are linked, but I wouldn't risk it man...

Haha so the hooks can cause unforeseen dilemmas in light of that I will forget the hooks coz you never know

As long as you are actively working on grip strength then stick with straps.
Everyone knows people who use those hook things die in horrible road traffic accidents.
