Sorry to hear that mate. Just make the most of your good days training wise and don't let it get you down too much. Easy to say, I know...

Sorry to hear about the asthma. Keep plugging away and wait for the good days to come back.

Just wondering which exercises you found to be most useful to getting your raw bench up? I've just started easing back into benching again (being careful of my shoulders) and it would be nice to nudge it up to 140 or so some time in the next 50 years!

sorry to hear this disease is bothering you again, i know exactly how your feel mate i've had it since i was very young.

have you tried the new green inhaler, it like the ventolin one but its effects last up to 12 hours and you still use the blue one if you need it.

do you know what's setting you off? Pollen, dust, change in deodorant, soap??

Thanks Neil,i have no idea, i do suffer from hayfeaver, i have dogs in the house it could be any number of things really.
I take Ventolin,Symbicort and Spiriva (Tiotropium)also need to take extra calcium the Spiriva is the best and lasts 24hrs it has made a big diff,i had ran out of this and the hospital had not told my doctors to put it on repeat, anyway its sorted now so i hope ill be fine cheers bud.Happy

Thanks Nico.Happy

I'm not the best person to ask Nico, but i will give it a go bud.
I am the king of overtraining when it comes to bench, not as much now but i used to do alot of the Sheiko bench program and not alot of assistance work.
A very wise man once told me that 3sets of 5 work sets one day and 5sets of 3 later in the week was more than enough for bench, after 3years of trying to bench i now see he was correct.

Assistance wise i would say...
lots of shoulder work over heads strict barbell, dbell whatever.
heavy rows barbell, dbell as heavy as you can go.
dips if you can do them at home i cant.
skull crushers, anything thats going to work your tris hard
close grip bench after your main bench.
Also something like cuban rotations, face pulls high reps 10 plus, to keep your shoulders healthy

1,work your shoulder strength
2,you need a strong back/lats
3,train your triceps hard

This is what i intend to do should i ever be well enough.
The very best of luck mate im sure you will get the 140 its all about hard work and the mental attitude.
Anyone who would like to add to that and help Nico out please do.Happy

Cheers Tom lots of good advice in there. I don't do dips so much anymore, because my shoulders don't like them. I've just started working hard on overhead pressing, so we'll see what sort of difference that makes, along with some tricep/back work. I reckon 140 is definitely doable. It will just be a case of keeping my shoulders healthy and working hard.
