Ok so anderson bench tonight. Didnt go well to begin with, not going to sugar coat it i was struggling like a fanny with a weight that should of been reasonably easy.
But......

Aaron noticed my forearm angles looked off with my usual ring finger on the knurling ring. Turns out my best positioning is index finger on the ring, guess im wider than i realised lol.

Anyway once that was sorted i got some good sets in. technical wise the best benching ive ever done and i feel like ive definitely crossed an important barrier.
We both agree tho that i need to do more bench more often to bring it up further.

On a better note the tendinitis started to rear its ugly head but nothing like previousely and it was easy to push through. After a hot shower and a bit of stretching i cant feel it again now so its certainly improving all the time. Squats didnt bother it yesterday either. Happy

s**t... getitng lazy with this already lol.

Ok, squats tonight. Good session. Worked up to a 5 at rpe 8 and knocked out 5 x 5 with it. We kept the pace up, one in the rack, out, weights adjusted (obviousely aaron squats more than me lol) then other one squats and repeat.

Finished off with some explosive deadlift work. Normal bands for 6 sets of 3 at an rpe 7.

That was that. Good paced session with plenty of volume.
Cool

Ok,
Anderson bench yesterday. Worked up to a 5 rep rpe 8 and completed a 5x5.

After that we did potential work.
Rack lockouts with 180 for me and 300 for him lol.

Oh and no tendinitis pain Happy

s**t, not doing very well at keeping this log lol.

Can't be arsed to log the deadlift and bench sessions from thurs and fri sorry lol.

Anyway. Box squats tonight. Worked up to a set of 5 with 120 then did two sets with 100. With all the warm up sets of doubles/triples it gave some good volume as well as a nice heavy set.
Felt like I had a bit more to give in the 120 set too but I didn't go higher as I think I'd of been risking form breakdown somewhat and that's just not acceptable in our gym.

Finished off with 5 sets of 3 reverse band Deadlifts. Nothing heavy just had 180 on the bar but stuck to the weaker green bands. These deads where all about the application of explosive strength not the loading.

Great session, walked in feeling like s**t and walked out feeling great. Really feeling like everything is coming together nicely now. Oh and the 120 x 5 box squat was a new pb by 15kg so that's a good confidence booster. Could just be from gaining skill with the exercise but either way I'm happy with it and improving all the time so I'll take the gains Happy

Ok, Tuesday so bench day.

Warm up, work up to then a heavy set of 5 Anderson bench followed by two lighter sets by 10%.

Then weakness training so for me that's triceps.
3x8 close grip bench.

Session done. Bit wiped out tonight. Dunno if it's this heat or what.

Anyway good session, tech is increasingly concistant. The odd thing to fine tune but the foundations are there. It's not all second nature yet but I'm close and improving all the time.
