Make it a bit more TV friendly events wise and it'd be awesome. But last night Ed Hall pissed it. He toyed with everyone on the pole push event although the commentator didn't seem to realise.

Glenn invests huge ammounts of money developing new equipment and events that most promoters are too lazy to do or too greedy to spend their money on! look at the hercules hold tonight for example, a world class piece of kit. we should be happy to have such a great competition to compete in with even better tv coverage. You can spend a million pound on Hercules hold kit but if people are getting under 10 seconds it's too heavy and boring to watch. No one wants to see injuries. If it was a bit lighter, less strong guys would NOT win. It would just make it better to watch. If the log was 10kg heavier, some of those 0 reps would have been 1, those 1s would have been 2-3. Bur do you think ed would have not got any more reps?! Course he would have. You can't use World standard weights when you have two world standard guys there, everyone else (spectTors and competitors suffer) Also why are there athletic type events but then made too heavy for anyone to display any athleticism?

Maybe the final will be better? or...bring back Geoff Capes?! lol

Grass fed Member 1147, 7710 posts SQ 220, BP 185, DL 272.5677.5 kgs @ 113kgs UnEq | It does seem that maybe the weights were set for the top guys in the UK, but most of them weren't there The 3 strongest guys in Scotland weren't there for different reasons, all of them would have been looking at reps on the log, Cherry would have been looking for quite a few reps It is difficult setting the weights for these things, but I really hate seeing no reps, or stupidly short holds, and especially injuries However I thought last year Ross got the events pretty spot on, bit lighter, lot of running around, fairly good to watch (minus the stupidly wide equipment that catered for Ross that they still use, ie the shield)

I don't know how many, and have heard the log was horrendous and possibly heavier than 150, I just know that Cherry is very good at log and especially reps (he did win the Arnold qual this year with a fairly crippling chest infection)

I'm a great supporter of Glenn I think he's doin fantastic for the sport and will continue to do so
