170 frontie is taking it easy ? You and I live in different worlds mate.
Has the drop in the jerk only happened since the Uni closed ? Could it just be that you need Dave's eagle eye on your technique ? Is it just the jerk or is your snatch buggered up too ? Have you thouht of a trip to O.S.G to rekindle your oly interest ?
It'd be a great shame if you gave up oly lifting after the hard graft you've put in.

^my jerks been getting gradually worse over the last 12-18 months. Unless someone can figure out where I'm going wrong with it I don't think a trip anywhere would help relight my fire. As you can see though, I've not given up on the oly lifts completely

can't believe how much some bodyparts are aching, especially my rear delts. My forearms have joined the party of ache to!

No training until Monday now so should be nice and fresh by then........I hope!

It's comments from the likes of Jabba who thinks anyone under 6ft is short and anyone who weighs less than 120kg is skinny that make people think i'm a scrawny midget. He only makes these comments to justify his own existence! (I know you'll see this John!)
I really should just stick my name down for the Champions of the Future comp, that way I can definitely break my strongman cherry


yea, looks like a great comp and it went well last time from what i seen/heard. also, being a first timers only you cant get fairer than that! Happy

urgh, not feeling exactly spritely for the oly lifts tonight after the trap bar stuff from Monday so went a bit lighter with a bit less volume than normal

Think I've been neglecting these are bit as they were harder than they would have been a few weeks ago. Could really feel some of the tightness in my upper back lacking as well, presumably from the trap bar work as well

REALLY felt these in my quads. It's the first time I've done then and I presumed I'd feel them in the hammies more but didn't at all. Don't know this is normal or not.

DONE....bit too much chatting this evening. Would have like to do some upper body but needed to shoot.

Cheers mate. Hopefully I'll get a comp done in the next few months when I've had a chance to practice the events a bit. Just seems like there are so many monsters on here even at under 90 that many strength needs some real work.

3s 5r - my bicep tendon causing me more bother. Don't know whether it's because my biceps have been worked so little from the oly lifting or that trying to lower a log in a controlled fashion is a recipe for disaster. Answers on a postcard.

had to literally drag myself to the gym this evening. My back left tight from the deadlifts and I wasn't particularly looking forward to the thought of snatching. Went much better than expected, which makes a nice changes, it's normally the other way around!!

Hah ! I have 190 kgs of bumpers from 25's down to 10's.....Totally wasted on a fat knacker like myself.
