Member 2477, 16481 posts SQ 190, BP 130, DL 235555.0 kgs @ 83kgs UnEq | pretty good session today. bench: bar x 5 40kg x 5 60kg x 5 70kg x 5 was well quick i was pleased 82.5kg x 5 PB, slow and hard though i still havnt got the hang of using leg drive yet single arm DB press (to impress the lads): bar (dont know how much it weighs, il assume about 5kg) x 5 10kg x 5 25kg x 5 30kg x 2 PB pretty hard stuff 5 sets of rows up to about 55kg 3 sets of skull cruashers, about 30kg x 8 was with a few guys i know, the kind of people who do bicep curls. it was funny because one of them said quietly to another that they dont like the way i bench because its bad for your back! hahaha it would be funnier to you if you saw what his bench was like

'There was also a sausage in my mouth.' Member 2477, 16481 posts SQ 190, BP 130, DL 235555.0 kgs @ 83kgs UnEq | squats today... bar x 10 x 2 50kg x 5 60kg x 5 80kg x 5 95kg x 5 5 kg up from last week starting to get the hang of squats now, felt pretty easy on my legs, however it still feels wrong on my shoulders so i cant walk out properly and all that so its pretty aquard. 5 sets of about 20 DB side bends back started to hurt so i left it at that and went home

Member 2477, 16481 posts SQ 190, BP 130, DL 235555.0 kgs @ 83kgs UnEq | Does anyone know if its an accepted method to deadlift with the feet in the sumo position but other than that use conventional technique. In sumo you're supposed to position the hips very close to the bar and pretty much squat it up. So is it ok to use conventional technique but with wide apart feet?

lazy boy Member 1746, 814 posts | To get use to having the kind of weight you need on your back, I used to do heavy calf raises on the smith machine, but you can use the barbell. I would go up to 230-250kg for a double or a single. It does hurt, but I'd always push it. Don't even think about the weight on my back now. I just lack practice for squats, couldn't do them properly at old gym.

Member 2477, 16481 posts SQ 190, BP 130, DL 235555.0 kgs @ 83kgs UnEq | ok well today i considerd sumo! the good news is that my back didnt hurt... very much the bad news, f**k me its harder. iv never felt so sodomized in my life! ok so i was a bit hung over from some lethal home made beer i sampled yesterday but that was the lesser issue deadlift: bar x 5 (well actually i did hanging cleans for that set) 60kg x 5 60kg x 8 100kg x 8 that actually felt hard doing it sumo 140kg x 8 starting to feel horrible 160kg x 8 PB allthough i dunno if it counts it took me about 1 and a half minutes to do it, more like 8 sets of 1 tbh good mornings: bar x 8 40kg x 8 40kg x 8 40kg x 8 50kg x 8 50kg x 8 5 sets of side bends fairly light

Doing 8 x 1 is much harder than 8 touch and go too. So you should be pleased.

Ed Coan (pre-injury) immediately springs to mind. My experience with it is that it makes lockout difficult.
