I did it in a comp in 2011. My lack of height was an advantage, as I could wedge the tips of my knees under the bar, and there was some flex, so probably not as impressive as it appears on paper. When I look back at my strongman days this doesn't feature as one of the feats that I'm most proud of. The best thing I ever did in a comp was probably 120kg axle floor to overhead for 3 reps, in 2009. Many nice memories

Not going to lie. I'd be bloody proud of both of those achievements. When you thing of it. Putting 120kg overhead wether single or for reps is a pretty damn rare achievement. Something I chase to this day!

Was getting quite tired so took Monday and Wednesday off. It actually paid off!

Genuinely thought I was going to be s**t as my sleep and diet hasn't been the best but the full 7 days between last week and this week came with a pleasant result of 2 reps up on every set!

DUMBELL BENCHPRESS (new exercise for me)

DIVERGING LAT PULLDOWN
1 set of 15 reps with 59kg
1 set of 10 reps with 59kg
1 set of 10 reps with 59kg (cheated the last 3 reps)
I worked hard as s**t.
In fact for like 12 weeks I worked hard as s**t. Squatting till the blood vessels popped, until my vision went. Squatting till I needed to sleep over 12 hours a day for a couple of days afterwards. Squatting till I swore I was getting arthritis in my hips, knees and lower back. Squatting so hard my core muscles ached 3 days later. Guzzling supplements a couple of times a day.
What did I get for those 12 weeks of hell?
I got 5kg on my max.
That's what I got. 5kg on my max.
Now that the 12 weeks is over and I've finished feeling like I was going to fail my reps week after week....
It's time to do it all over again. Maybe in another 12 weeks I might add another 5kg on my max and squat 155....
