I've found a cheap Concept 2 on the local adverts pages here, but it's a 90s Model B version. Anyone know if these are as good as the D versions or waste of money? Is about £250.
Apart from the screen working, chain returning/rewinding and seat rollers working is there anything else to watch out for?

Not really comparable to a Model C/D, to be honest. You can't adjust the drag factor, there's just two sprockets to change the resistance. Wooden footboards. The PM1 monitor is very basic compared to a PM4/5.
All that being said, they're still bombproof, and as long as the moving parts are in working order you'll get all the workout you need. You can even retrofit the latest handle, footboards and monitor if you ever feel like being fancy.
Given the waiting time on a new machine and the price gouging on used ones these days, I'd say go for it.

Ah, I do miss dragging a knee around barn corner at Cadwell Park.
Hopefully it's on the cards again next year!

the benefits of buying any concept 2 used (or new I suppose), is that they're easy to off load for very little loss (even outside of COVID times), so while the prices are high at the moment, I wouldn't expect you'd struggle to sell it off if you're looking to upgrade in the future

That and they actually provide a workout. I tried a mates magnetic rower and wasn't impressed by the resistance. 10 settings that seemed to be a magneticgear too high to provide any challenge. The rubber band ones are just toys. I'd love to try the kevin spacey water rower in house of cards.

I bought my Model C in 2010 £450
I have put over 8million meters on it and could sell it for £600 no problem.
If you buy the B and don't like it give me first refusal.

Agree, I've got access to a magnetic rower and it's just garbage, I don't even bother with it.
I'm waiting for a new one and should have signed up much earlier. The only ones being sold up my way are by some guy who seems to pick up every spare Concept 2 going, gives them a wipe and then sell them for probably £200 more than he paid.
