Bench, very raw, squat boots on
20 x 20
20 x 20
20 x 20
50 x 5
60 x 5
70 x 3
80 x 3
90 x 2
100 x 2
110 x 2
115 x 2
120 x 2
125 x 1
125 x 1
Hugely disappointing, all was well up to the last set when I completely f**ked up the second rep. Did it again as a single to try to salvage what little pride I have left. It almost worked to.

Close grip
60 x 8
70 x 8
80 x 8
80 x 8
80 x 8
These were all on the slow side as I haven't done then for a while, well they are back now.

It may be prudent to reduce the increments from the intended five kilos to two point five. I saddens me deeply to have to resort to this but at least it might still work if I do it.

Bah ! bo***cks ! Bloody bench !

Ah are we on metric dates now you must have listened when I used to talk about moving on to the metric time system.

I always listened, it would have been impolite not to. I tend to think that it was merely a typing error rather than any great desire to adhere to metric time.

As always I am mystified why you quote the entire post just to tell me I have the date wrong, but a man who finds it too dark to bench on the brightest day of the year is capable of anything

I have just discovered that all the Sherlock Holmes stories written by Conan Doyle, "the canon" as it is known, contains 641,503 words

I have also discovered that the most common seven letter word in the canon is "nothing". I find that fact rather bewildering, not that "nothing" is indeed that word, but why omit, three, four, five, six, eight and nine letter words ? Why search on seven ?

It would take too long to delete the rest of the post. I might return in the autumn but not to powerlifting.

Good depth, got a good squeeze at the bottom of all these and none were difficult to stand up with. Happy days

Today is, or should I say, would have been Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 160th birthday. And for those of you who remember girl number one from the home of the tubular bandage, well she shares a birthday with Sir ACD, she will be 50 today. So before I retire this evening, I shall read one of the short stories, then I will sit and remember happy times, I will drain a glass and that as they say will be that.

Friday, 24th May, start 16:00

Usually, ju-jitsu guys squats on a Friday, but this week he did so on Wednesday, so I didn't have to observe like I normally do, thus I started training quite a bit earlier than usual.

Tbar row
20 x 8
30 x 8
40 x 8
50 x 8
60 x 8
70 x 8
80 x 8
80 x 8
80 x 8

Pulldown to front, narrow grip
50 x 8
55 x 8
60 x 8
65 x 8
70 x 8
70 x 8
70 x 8
70 x 8
70 x 8

It is now only five o' clock and I haven't rushed, so I change and say goodnight to the chaps and amble off, more than one Tesco employee looked at their watch as I entered and I was home for six-ish, shower, tea and still in time for Emmerdale, that is unusual for a Friday.

I have to make the most of this week end and next weekend is the grand debut of the grey referee's trousers and all accompanying paraphernalia. I will be there on both days so not much free time that weekend. So the plan for this weekend is not to much at all.

Hot and sunny here my friend. Got a hot wolfdog and a hot goat here. I put the wolf in the dark in his den. He will stay silent and he will sleep. Feel sorry for the goat. Goats like it cold. You got me wiggedout about the outside bug thing. They a few land on me throughoutthe day. Sometimes flys/bugs are killed by slapping them on myself once one need more than one piece of me. Anyway out here in my element somewhere in time in a place so so far away. It seems like everything has its reality. So fun reading yours and giving me a chance to express my stupid thoughts thoughts of the squashed mind.

I envy you the hot and sunny. Warmish and dryish here, can't say much more than that really. Rarely have two days the same to be honest. Variety is the spice of life they say, but only if it's indoors
