Yeah its crazy, the fastest technique for sure saves a few fractions per stone add one motions and you have the reason he was a complete stone ahead of Z who came 2nd in stones!

Does anyone think stones has become too much of a speed event now? Or is that a debate for another day/thread?
Well done to the Brits. Some good stuff from you guys

That was just insane.
Big Z is truly amazing winning heaviest Arnolds ever and then WSM where speed was a huge factor.
That said Thor is incredible for a guy that's 25. He'll be a factor in the sport for many years to come.
Can't see Z keeping this up at his age against Thor and Shaw so good to see him win both Arnolds and WSM in the same year against the toughest competitors there has ever been.

Yes, it used to be only a few guys could lift the fifth stone, other than obviously Burke bulldozing the platform and Loz who I can only guess is carrying an injury everyone in the final did all 5. Either add an extra stone, make them heavier or go back to not being able to use tacky. The last stone should be an achievement that few in the world are capable of it is the final of Worlds strongest man after all!

What I meant was - would it be better if it was decided on number of stones lifted (i.e. using heavier stones) rather than by fractions of seconds and almost everyone completing?

I think all events should be like that. After all, this is world's strongest man, not world's fastest man.

Does anyone know why Loz only did 3 stones?
At brits, and now at worlds he seems far far away from the bloke who finished 4th in 2011.
Shame
