Krastev's snatch record looks very close to being beaten. Lu Xiaojun may take the old 75kg record too. Anyone else looking poised to become among the greatest of all time?

I'd fully expect Salimi to take Krastevs record (216) as he hit a 217 in a local comp last year and an easy 214 at the workds last year with more in the tank.

a 77kg'er in china recently snatched 175 in the nationals, so if he goes to the games then he has a reasonable shout at doing that!

maaaaaaybe snatch world record, although I don't entirely see it as even with 210 he will be pretty ahead of anyone else in his class and it won't completely be necessary as he is not total crap at the c+j

94kg snatch world record, sorry Kaki Unhappy
94kg clean and jerk record maybe, depends how far the Ivanovs take the snatch and how hard Ilin has to work for his medal!
and subsequently 94kg total record

77kg clean and jerk world record, sorry Oleg
maaaaaaybe 77kg snatch world record, although it all depends on what everyone is snatching

105k snatch
105k cj
105k total
Especialy if Dolega, Aramnau are on form

can't see much going on in the other classes, although you never know!

Ihor shymyschenscheska, Steiner and Chigishev (assuming they all lift) will all go over 200 surely, however yea, 210kg should be enough to nail the snatch. Hopefully he'll want a little breathing room for the Cj, want an all time world record and Rezazadeh will offer him a few quid again Grin

yuri zakharevich's records seems too hard to beat. Really excited about going to see the 77kg weight class. 90kg total by Victor Solodov is 422.5kg WOW.

the Russian super heavy woman will probably take both, considering she had a crack at both of them at the weekend, and will no doubt be on better form in London?

I would be surprised if anybody at 105kg ever beats Zakharevich's 110kg records.

I don't know what all time records will be beaten, but I know what won't be, even by the 85kgs......

405kg total in the old 82.5kg class. The guy really was a class (two classes actually) above everyone else!

Does it really count if somebody weighing 105kg breaks the 100kg records? (you could equally say that you can't expect the best 105kg lifter to be as good as the best 110kg lifter so maybe they shouldn't be able to break the 110kg records)

It doesn't really count, but as with my Yurik Vardanian post, his total record as an 82.5kg lifter has never been beaten by an 85kg lifter, in fact the 400kg total has never been exceeded.

440 @ 100? Can't see that going @ 105.

Different times that shouldn't be compared. This is now.
