Didn't seem to be as much chatting and more of the lifts were shown, except for 1 event (can't remember which) where they didn't show any. I was hoping Dave Meer would finish a bit higher, not sure why he didn't tbh. Rob Frampton was awesome, and Gary Gardner was amazing, didn't see him finishing that high going off the heats. Very impressed and looking forward to Giants on Sunday even more now. Well done to Glen, who made it look like he was coasting in his heats a bit. The van deadlift was too light though! People shouldn't be able to get 30 reps in a deadlift event, maybe if the bouncing wasn't allowed it would have been ok. All in all a great comp, some different events, just needed better presenters for me. | ||

Member 662, 3372 posts | Agree with most of what was said, liked most of the events, thought it was good how they interviewed guys (not just the winner), the final was much better than the heats (which I didn't think was that bad) Downsides for me were, Geoff's intros, and also as Ken said showed too many failures ie on the deadlift and not enough of the guys getting their lifts, and yes the deadlift was too light but sometimes s**t happens. All in all I think it was the best UK's from a spectators point of view so far. | ||

He had to fight tooth and nail in the final to win it. Going into powerstairs there were still about 4 guys who could take the title I believe. | ||

Member 1846, 1 posts | Thought the show was great, glenn always comes up with new events rather than throwing out the same old events used in worlds year after year. it was a real strongman comp where all the events were heavy. the rock lift looked awesome back to classic strongman. Thought geoff was good to he did make a few mistakes but was great to see a legend like geoff back in strongman. well done to glenn and all the competitors on a great show. | ||
