I do traditional slinging and also sling with a modified Pro diablo using flat therabands.
I love it and do do traditional slinging more often these days maybe 2 or 3 times a week whilst out in the country with the dog.
Here's a vid using tech I don't normally use. I normally throw fig. 8 style.
And here's a short clip of my unbanded pro diablo without the arm support attached.

Slingshot as in this thing right?:

I've had one now for a couple months, used it on pretty much every bench session. I can handle a lot more volume, with zero shoulder pain. That has been translating into an easier time in PL gear and bigger bench numbers.
I don't expect it would be that great for raw lifters as it tends to help off the bottom like a shirt, but for lifters who train for equipped competitions like myself it's really very useful.

I meant the bench slingshots :P and i was just thinking for a raw lifter it would be good to overload the lockout?

So you guyts see this as a viable alternative to board prressing?
That might just make me quite interested.
Any other thoughts chaps? Worth the money? Easy to use on your own?

How do these things compare to a board press? Or in another words what board dose it feel closest to? 2, 3, 4...? Or to put it another way whats the carryover?
brownbear03/11/11 @ 08:40
It is similar to a board press in as much as it as an effective tool for overloading the triceps. It is kind of like a reverse band bench, only easieer to set up and forces you to tuck more

Easy and safe to use alone? If so, I may be interested in one as I need something to spice up my pressing training.
