Sorry Steve, I missed this question until I saw Wigan had answered it.
I've not heard who is up for the chop for the next two rounds as yet - they must be running out of Lifters by now. Unhappy

Whilst I'm not sure about all this retesting, if they are going to retest all these different "rounds" of testing seems totally wrong to me. There ought to be no retesting, or absolutely every test re done IMO.

Agree, and for every stored sample from every championships or OOC for every country and every sport IMO. That said would that end the speculation? Can't see it personally.

I wonder how many times each "sample" can be re-tested until it is gone? I know for some tests they can replicate samples (certain DNA tests etc) but can't imagine that is applicable here.

Makes you wonder if the naming of Akkayev is a shot across the bows of a another certain former Russian Weightlifter...

Would he care? He has moved on from IWF and has a successful business model more based on Crossfit being his customer base rather than IWF / IOC. I doubt his Crossfit following would either ever realise, or even care if he got retrospectively banned.

I dont see Lapikov suddenly calling off his tour on the back of the latest news, and Evstyukhina seems to be happily promoting her online coaching at the moment. These guys don't really care

Well by the Wada code you cant be coached by a suspended athlete so at some point someone might run into issues there if they make enough noise.

On the basis that Crossfit isn't a tested sport (that I'm aware of) it'll make no difference to them.

It's tested, to a certain extent, but it's not under WADA. Many CFers do however compete in weightlifting and powerlifting (and maybe a few other sports) in WADA-compliant national federations.

This fine lifter never lifted in Rio - I think many would agree it would be good to see her Lift in Tokyo.
