Well, I do pyjama wrestling, too Grin

I do two kinds of pyjama wrestling that claim to be distinct but actually seem pretty samey to me. An armlock wins in both.

Also, doing cheating squats in my cheating knee sleeves.

Even within one style there such variance.

See BJA & Judo Scotland vs the EJU (we want bjj and MMA but France are a bunch of pansies)

And even variance within a school. The place I was training BJJ seemed to have a drastic attitude difference between the "professor" and the purple belt coaches. The purple belts were laid back and informal, all about developing your own style. The "professor" started to push the "Gracie Barra Way" which didn't seem to make sense to me so I left.

Also because he pulled me up for practicing throws with the higher grades because they wanted the grip and breaking balance explained to them. You're not allowed throws till your blue belt and in the black belt program, f**k that.

Yeah, sod that. Throwing people and picking them up and slamming them is what it's all about for meTongue That's why I didn't really get on with judo, as it seems to have gone too far with what you are allowed and not allowed to do.

I got to train with some super awesome people last week. No throws though because the mats weren't on the right kind of floor.

Learned some cool half guard tricks and a couple of things to make my juji gatame an even bigger bas***d than before. I love attacking from half guard in judo, it really pisses people off.

Dropping off some boss front squats that I'm super proud of.

Also, getting in two extra BJJ sessions a week now on top of lifting. It's starting to get tempting to drop a judo session in favour of an extra BJJ session if I can't start finding better standing practices.

Took a trip up to 63kg (weighed in at 59.7kg) for the Scottish Seniors to have a go at some GBR records. Got the Squat with 153kg but sadly I wasn't getting near 93kg bench that day.

Food fixes everything, except being over weight.

The front squats are even more impressive. It looked like you were going to attempt a fourth. Did you?

I did go for a fourth. I'd pulled the video back down odd Instagram to get it on Youtube so I could show boat on the internet more.

The problem with Instagram is that I lift too slow to fit a set into a 15 second clip.

Hopefully that 153kg will be less on the limit in 4 weeks time. And 2.7kg in 4 weeks at this weight won't be as soul destroying as the 2.8 in a week I had to do for the European classic. I realistically should be aiming for the same attempts, even slightly more with things better thought out on deadlift.

Non lifting related. Today I pulled off standing seoi nage on a blue belt... twice. He just kept standing up in the perfect posture for it.

New game plan, throw f**kers so hard that they're disoriented so no one notices how sloppy I am in technical mount.

Turns out I move hella fast and explosive when I really want to.

When I was younger I watched a lot of Jeon Ki-young when struggling with technique, especially with the seoi nage variations, I think he has a DVD too.

Where are you based? Nice lifting at that recent comp.

I'm based in Glasgow.

It's not the technique for seoi nage I struggle with but forcing the opening for it. Sometimes I get the opening by chance, and it's glorious, but I really need to be able to set it up. I'm not a very pully or ragdolly type from standing, I prefer to grip fight (now illegal LOLZ)

IJF also need to f**k off and bring back kata garuma and te garuma. And stop pissing me about on gi rules. I had a good giggle about the IPF drama recently considering I'd just had to fork out ~£300 for two new IJF gis and a legal belt only to have them become illegal nine months later.
