I meant more that you must be jacked than you should compete. 97kg 14% at 5.7 is serious haha. It depends on the person but a gradual calorie reduction diet would be a simple starting point. How well you handle carbs etc is another story and youd have to figure out for yourself but as a general guide the slower you lose the weight the better youl feel and more strength youl be able to keep. Find your maintenance calories and adjust from there, wer are you based mate?

I live in Sheffield South Yorkshire bud

Was wondering if there has ever been a thread relating to the diets of the lighter weight class strongmen. I would love to try competing again next year but would like to get my natural bodyweight down to 90kg or very close rather than trying to loose 5kg in a week like i did last time. I was wondering how important things like protein intake would be?? Im a natural lifter 5 foot 7 and 97kg bodyweight at 14% bodyfat. Thanks for any help lads

Paul Anderson and doug Hepburn both weighed over 300 pounds, benched 600 pounds before steroids were invented, Anderson squatted 1200. Reckon ud still get some monsters, whats the point in competition when the idea is who can cheat the best????

We know the competitors we know the events who wins?? I think top 3 Lalas Shaw Z close between 3 but Z will lose ground with the timber walk, Shaw with the Log and Lalas may be just consistent enough to take it
