Im using the world famous "Olly Jackson DL routine" for my DL %'ages now, so I am waiting with baited breath (lager flavoured) to see my new huge DL PB in 8 wks time!.

Olly would say - I suspect rightly - that the key to his deadlift routine is hitting platforms on one week (I used doubles weeks) and rack pulls the other, hard. I think the routine might work ok anyway, but I certainly put a lot of the huge improvement I got out of it (195, and probably couldn't have repeated that at the start, to 212.5 with maybe more) down to the assistance. I just went to a heavy single or double each week, progressing each week; Olly tended to shake things up more and rep more.

edit: that said we weren't squatting on dl day, which obviously is going to make a big difference to what you can reasonably take on in terms of dl assistance.

Hmm yeah i did think that bud. I do assistance work the other day, but that day is pretty full already too (i just posted my routine in the thread about routines in the other forum). I guess i could alternate assistance work...
