Any idea where the jury were sat? Whilst from the position of the cameras it seemed like a correct decision to over-rule the refs, I always find it wrong when refs sat in what are hopefully the best positions to make a decision are over ruled by a jury in a less than optimum position

If you were a Lifter stood on the stage the Jury table was behind and slightly to the right of the Centre Judge.I agree with your point here...I also think that sitting below the lifter may not be the best place to see elbow instability in the first place.

As an aside it was interesting to watch some of the Russian Lifters at the Heraklion meeting a week-and-a-half ago...Kashirina went 143/180, Naniev snatched 194,Turieva 112/143 or thereabouts....Kostova has also put up some massive lifts on FB as well, such as a 200 front squat....

I think Lovchev is down to lift at Klokovs next Power Weekend event, will be interesting to see what he does!

Indeed - it will also be interesting to see if all the lifters who either didn't make it to or fail the tests at Rio even bother trying to get back to IWF competition or whether a separate circuit - with comps like this - can develop.
EDIT: To expand on the above slightly further...Klokov vs Ilyin at 115-120kg anyone??

It appears (I say "appears" as the CAS Verdict is a trifle ambiguously worded) that Salimi's second attempt may have actually been overturned for dropping the Barbell.

After having had a chance to calm down after Rio...it's going to be a real pain waiting an infinity to see whether the Lifters we cheered and rooted for are actually allowed to keep the medals their hard work earned.
I am seriously thinking of organising a Petition to the IWF / IOC to fix the Rio Champions in place after a given period...I am seriously considering making that back-dated too.
There was another tranche of lifters sanctioned by the IWF yesterday / today - Eastern Bloc lifters for the usual, Chinese Lifters for Peptides it appears...

Are these more positives or ones that have already been released? Just wondered how many positives they now found and if they've finished testing

Would love to see an untested WL fed. return to the old weight classes too (keep the weigh-ins at 2 hours).
Ilya at a full 110kg would almost certainly take Zakharevich's clean and jerk record.

I think the latest released are from the second wave of re-testing, apparently there are two more waves to go, so far from over just yet it appears

Sorry Steve, I missed this question until I saw Wigan had answered it.
I've not heard who is up for the chop for the next two rounds as yet - they must be running out of Lifters by now.
