Unit 20 First Timers Comp 2011

Hey Sugden mofos, Unit20 are running a 1st timers comp again next year, 23rd April is the proposed date, £15 entry, 12noon kick off, athletes there by 11am at the latest.

Venue - Burns Gym, Elizafield, The Racks, Collin, Dumfries, DG1 4PU

Closing date for £15 entry fee is 22nd March. Sorry for the relatively short notice. Payments can be made by paypal to briancuninghame@yahoo.co.uk or send a cheque payable to Nick Earl and post it to Unit Fitness, Unit 1 Avondale House, Starthclyde Business Park, Bellshill, Glasgow, ML4 3NJ.

Events

1 - 80kg axle for reps, floor to overhead - 75secs.
2 - 200kg Deadlift for reps - 75secs - no suits, no straps. Head to Head.
3 - to be confirmed
4 - Yoke/Farmers medley - 220kg yoke for 15m, 100kg farmers for 12m - 90 second time limit. Head to head.
5 - 100kg stone over yoke (approx 48" high) for reps - 75secs. Head to head.

Criteria for entering - must have done no strongman comps before. That's it.

Good stuff. Hey, just realised I haven't heard back from Perth about the weightlifting. Let me know if you want me to look into it at Palace of Arts.

This has made my night I had thought the next chance to do a comp would be later next year but my proper season won't have started in April and even if i'm back training I can miss a week no bother. Fingers crossed I don't injure myself between now and then. (f**ked the ligaments in my knee during the game that I played in instead of doing the novice comp!)

haha nice one! aye he's defo doing this comp or he's dead to me! i think the events suit him he'll prob shock a few people..
