What bike you ordered Burky?
What bike you ordered Burky?
There is another one around Cheshire that looks good as well.
I've ordered an on-one, dirty disco
It's a 'cross bike with disc breaks so should be good for a year round commuter.

That's just a brilliant part of the country to ride in. I used to head out from Stoke to Leek, then Macclesfield, Whaley Bridge, Buxton, Leek and back to Stoke. Not a huge amount of miles, but quite a heavy ride at times.
I reckons you'll have a great time doing that Burky.

All set just hoping it dont get cancelled. Should be a good experience just going to sit on all the race then unleash hell on the sprint

There are some serious f**king hills around Macclesfield. The names of many of them escape me but you could put together a 50mile ride from hell.
Burky, are you thinking of the Cheshire Cat?

I love that you are confident enough about sitting on. I'd be scared of getting dropped on the first lap!
If I was in a group with you, I wouldn't leave your wheel for love nor money, a big lad like you would lead me out perfectly

Thats the one! I think a climb call 'mow cop' is part of the course which is supposed to be pretty grim.

I grew up and went to school in Macclesfield. It was a long hard slog from day's house to where mum lived just on the outside of Macclesfield on the Buxton Road. The Cat and Fiddle road from Macclesfield to Buxton is certainly a challenging road (I believe it also has the highest motorcycle death rate!)

Mow Cop! f**king hell, I hope it doesnt rain! It's a steep one alright. The 'killer mile' is only seven or eight miles from where I grew up and is a bit of a bas***d. Not long at all, but short and sharp.

Cat and Fiddle is a great ride, but you are right about the motorbike fatalities. The amount that used to fly past us on past on a Sunday run at eye-watering speeds was staggering.

Indeed. It just sorts of rolls all the way to Macc and then gets hard on the way back to Buxton and then Buxton to Leek. Good times. Coming back from Buxton once at the start of winter I had to stop and piss on my hands as I couldn't feel my fingers. Not such good times.
GATES25/01/13 @ 16:43
Bloody race got cancelled I am very confident in my ablilty and sprint on flat courses if it gets lumpy then I would be out the bike I regularly ride with cat 2 lads and they can't drop me on the flat.
Gutte about race but not to worry the first of 4 reliability rides start on Sunday will try stay with the front group which will be going a long at 20+ looking at last years times eeeek
