If you met someone for the first time and you asked what he lifted, what would he have to reply with for you to consider him strong? (Bench dead sq overhead).

For me i'd say 250 squat 300 dead 180 bench 140 overhead.

hmm, me alot less, i'd say anyone who can deadlift over 200 squat (proper technique) over 150 and bench over 120 is "strong" i think sometimes with sugden having alot of top strength athletes on it our prespective of strong is alot higher.

Most gyms don't ever see a 5 plate deadlift etc !

A 250+ squat

Or

A 300+ dead

Or

A 200+ bench

Or

A 150+ fto

One of the above, strong,

2 of the above but not squat and dead or bench and fto, really strong

All of the above, beast

For me, say someone in my commercial gym...

Erm 180 sq, 140 bench, 220 DL, 100 OH would impress me.

If i was stronger myself id likely have a different view though.

I suppose, but what would it take to actually impress you? Not just, 'oh he seems strong, compared to the average man'?

then if it's compared to the average man then it's not massive numbers really. something like mine or a bit less is better than average.

If you can walk into a gym and squat 140, bench 100, an pull 180 you are strong. You're not strength athlete strong but you're strong.
