What the most commonly used axle in comps. I just got a 6inch axle and its massive find cleaning with it quite hard deadlifting gives a great pump in forearms tho.thinking i might get a 4inch

Sure there normally between 2" and 3 1/2" at most. Could be wrong
Scaffold is a good cheap alternative

50mm is pretty standard. Or 48mm if its scaffold. I think that size is most likely in comps.

I Hope this is not a set up for the bullies, but I was told a 2" diameter was considered an axle in the USA and the rest are considered bars. I use all different diameter bars. They are all 7 footers but I welded 2" ×12 bars on end to support plates. I been lifting since I was 12 years old I am now 52. I have amounted to anything but I am a big time believer in different diameter bars. They have helped me out tremendously. Usually the highest is a 200 pound 3" bar in diameter. Everyone I deadlift I use a different bar. Watch the future. I may never win but watch the thick bar technology gain popularity. The funny people will have their thumbs up their bo cankie

^^ This. Though i do most of my training on a 60mm axle, much harder to work on, so comp day axles are usually a breeze by comparison.
