lol, yeah! Its not the people in it its the commentator that makes it so special.

Well made a little special of my own last night, huge piece of frying steak (thinly sliced), cauliflower, green beans and spring onion stir fried with oyster sauce, teriyaki, garlic, tea spoon of fish sauce, blob of honey and some pad thai sauce. Once meat and veg cooked let the sauce reduce right down to a nice sticky thick sauce. Was well yum!

Pound of mince, tin of Branston baked beans and one rustically chopped onion. With some strategically selected herbs and spices it ate quite nicely.

Got tonight's planned dinner - posh farmer's market sausages - out of the freezer, where they told me they would be fine, and found the styrofoam tray had bonded permanently to, and into, the sausages. Wrote then off completely, both packs. So I had a kebab.

Last night I went to the theatre in Manchester, so at five o'clock I was on the open-air terrace of a restaurant overlooking Deansgate and eating, amongst other things, this:

My first lobster (I think), and it was very nice, but possibly not up to its price nice. Lovely way to spend an early evening, though, eating good food in the open urban sunshine.

Went to a supper club hosted by "Drunken Butcher", entitled "Clucking Hell".

There was a cocktail to open, then chicken liver parfait with melba toast:

Then a white chocolate mousse with candied citrus, which I didn't photograph.

Great night, great company, really good food.

Six months ago this thread was full of activity, now it's mostly me Unhappy. I miss drew, and martinb.

I had leftover chicken kindly gifted to me after last night (and you don't turn down knocking on for half a perfectly cooked free-range herb-fed chicken free down!), so lunch was chicken salad with pancetta, shallots, garlic, and red wine vinegar hot dressing. No photo.

Dinner was simples: roast field mushrooms, finished with a layer of goat cheese and grilled briefly; roast gammon steak (all in the science oven); swede chips (deep-fryer); mustard and Sriracha mayonnaises (with Hellman's, of course, I have a bad attack of lazy).

So easy, so tasty.

That's kind of you to say. I do often read if not post.

Tonight was slow cooked sausages in stock with a huge amount of onions. Thus making onion gravy by the time all was ready

And a big bowl of veg soup which had pretty much all root veg in it

A bit mish mash but tasty

Tomorrow will be better. Already got 1.5kg of beef marinating in coconut cream, herbs chilli garlic etc. It will be cooked down with lots of onion and tomato to make a light rogan Josh style affair. With roasted sweet potato

To keep Rick happy, I shall post, not that it's very exciting!

I had beef brown and rice. Dull!

I later had a snack of whey, banana, 85% dark chocolate and some almonds. Again, pretty dull!
