moz said: keep your forearms vertical to the floor. Concentrate on that and keeping your shoulder blades pinched together. Use more weight than your 1rpm, if you crnt touch, stick a bit more on. Once the shirt breaks in you'll be able to touch with weights you can safely handle so stop messin about and stick 180 on the bar...? lol 160 was an awkward bas***d to touch a 2 inch board. thanks for the tips, if only my tri's were strong enough ![]()

I'd just like to say first off it's not bdfpa that I have a problem with, my problem is how divided the sport was. it seems ridiculous that there is more than one national record does it not? I simply picked the higher of the 2 as my target. should the bdfpa record become 310 or higher I'll have a new target. I presume you're talking about yourself btw, are you u23? just because if you're senior, the gbpf record is 355kg. best of luck in February, looks like you'll smash the record!

I'm going to admit that I let my upper back round a lot. I'd hate to suggest you do this and hear about you getting injured though. you should definitely try to keep your lower back arched or straight though, snd if you can't then you either need more hamstring flexibilty or longer arms! I usually started with horrible flexibilty warming up with the bar then increased range of motion a bit each rep then when j was warmed up for the heavy set I'd be fine off the floor for each rep.

MrSmall said: That's just ridiculous (in a good way). No idea how 200x5 straight leg equates to 250x5 for you, but seems to be getting results, good on you pal. cheers! it probably ndicates that my hamstrings are still weak compared with lower back, which is why I've been getting such good results from sldl

moz said:i found an F6 to be wank at lockout but great off the chest. Train those tri's lad ![]() ah. more high board press then! what am I doing wrong if when using weights that I can handle raw, it flies over my face and for some reason I'm not strong enough to do anything about it? I'm talking like 140kg, I should be getting a couple reps raw with that! is it anything to do with me having to pull really hard to get a touch? I've heard bad things happen when you have to start pulling

Boar said:although your lifts are amazing im more impressed with that 100m time !! WWWWWOOOOOOoooOOOSSSHHHH !! my 100m time of 10.53 was impressive when I did it at 18 years old. my 60m time of 6.73 last year is a lot better, but I get the feeling I might be better in powerlifting. for a hope of a place on the gb sprint team I'm going to have to run 10.1x 100m, and that's quite a big difference. I think I have more chance of an international spot in powerlifting. but we'll see what summer brings for sprinting

MrSmall said:Great pulling Tom. I just find this sort of buildup strange. You started with 5x140kg, and ended with 200x5 eight weeks later and somehow out of this you got 280kg? And then within 3 weeks you put 20kg on that by one rack pull and pulling off the floor twice? How did you squatting go? 5x 140 was a really conservative start giving me plenty room to improve, and 5x200 was a quite conservative finish. I believe this worked by me never really pushing it too hard. 5x200kg straight leg is probably worth around 240-250 x5 conventional for me, which is well on track for 280kg if you ask me! the next 20kg was so easy to find because I hadn't done any conventional deadlift in so long, just solidifying my technique and getting the most out of the more efficient body angles found me the extra weight really quickly! btw, my friend took his dl from 140kg to 200kg at the same time as me doing the same thing
