hifilover said:Brilliant press! More so for the fact you're taking the bar out yourself and not having it handed to you; this can sometimes hinder PB's as for me, you lose a few KG on taking the bar out itself! Got to be the right person though or it can quite often be worse! I don't always have the luxury and have recently learnt to do it myself, there aren't many I trust to give me the right hand out, and unfortunately, they don't seem to ever be around anymore.

AaronJ said:It always amazes me when I watch experienced guys lift how fast and easy PBs look. Do you feel there was more there? Thanks! I always try to pick a weight that I know will move well. 205kg would have been at the limit I think. When I attempt 205, it will be under circumstances where I 100% know I do not need a spotter. This mindset keeps me picking sensible numbers and facilitates better long term progress.

AaronJ said:Are you going to update your journal goal? Yes I suppose I should! I just got emailed by powerliftingwatch to tell me I made the top 20 all time best raw total list under 100kg, in 16th place, tied with a few others at 13th though. I'm pretty pleased with this for my first comp at 100kg. So I suppose my next target will be to crack the top 10 and then keep working my way up.

Cheers Ben ![]() Last night - Squat - Belt + Sleeves bar x 5 x 3 sets 60 x 3 100 140 180 220 260kg x 3 - 3 rep PB - bit of a cheap PB compared to 300, but they all need doing. Bench - max width grip practice bar x 5 x 3 sets 60kg x 5 100kg x 3 115kg x 5 x 5 - got better each set 140kg x 1 - FAST 165kg x 1 - FAST 185kg x 1 - most i've done with this grip, panicked a bit and messed the line up but plenty strong enough

Anything worth squatting would have have been unacceptably painful today so just did some deads from blocks and rested the overused squat joints. Deadlift - About 13.5" 60 100 140 180 220 260 300 320kg x 2 - These moved really well. Feel much better for doing this. Finished with some upperback bodybuilding type stuff. Tomorrow should be better ![]()
