started with some Db swings to try and help my DL lock outs.
70lbs 5x5 with each arm. havent done these in a while, really got my heart going!

Chin ups
9,8,7 havent done these in a while either

Deadlift
60 x 4
100 x 3
140 x 1
180 x 1 (belt and straps)
220 x 2 failed 3rd (suit belt and straps)

17" deadlift
220 x 1 all belt and straps
240 x 1
250 x 1
220 x 2 failed third

trying to get used to using straps, but i really really dont like using them, it seems to mess up my 'prep' for the lift espesially with the suit on! not happy with only a double on 220 as i wanted at least 3 maybe 4.
also i seemed to hitch everything today unfortionatly, and my legs wernt sliding very well.

any advice on working lockouts anyone??

back later to work upper back.

totally agree with the 'thinking to much' bout what ur doin tho George... uv got the strength there, just lift it!!!

my chins still sore from the axle mishap, thats what happens when u 'dont think at all' Grin

GVT was a b**ch this morning... really gotta stop doin it the day after events x

Embarassed utspan

cheers mate, i will try to not think about it from now on (but not as little thought as you lol i like my chin when it doesn hurt tbh)

i didnt get home from working early enough today so couldnt train, so squats will be tomorow for me (probably for the best, im quite sore lol)

i wouldnt worry too much about your bench atm, use it as an accesary lift (overhead being more improtant for strongman and your weightlifting.)

i think most people tend to use a squat, push, pull routine mate. just keep it simple, like not putting too much accesary work in and over doing it.
there are a million and one different specific routines out there, you just have to try different ones and see what works for you.

how did you get on with the 240 deadlift today? think i read somethin bout u getting urself a suit... are u gonna b usin it to train in or liftin bearback till the comp?
ur yoke looked ok the other week so shouldnt worry to much bout not completing the course and focus more on a quick time!!!
how easy do u find it dropping weight? thats usually the thing that has more of an effect on performance from what iv seen!!! not sure how many people are doin the u90s, usually put a list up so u can get an idea who ur up against!!!
im still feeling s**t so not really looking forward to it as much as i have been but closer the time im sure that will change...
Grin utspan

yeah got the inzer fuzion, will be using it for training and the 105s then i will see what me next comps have ina s to whether i will be wearing it in training, wont need it for U90s.
im 93 in joggers and a hoodie so i will only need to drop 2kg which i spoke to rich about and will be easy. yeah my yoke has been getting better but still not good enough though lol, we wills see.
im sure you will soon though still 12 weeks i think!

on to my training Grin

Deadlift
60 x 3
100 x 1,1
140 x 1
180 x 1
200 x 1 suit and belt
240 x 1 suit and belt PB Grin Grin Grin only a slight hitch
220 x 2 failed third suit and belt

120 plus bands 10 singles, 30sec between each

240 came up really nicley, so happy with it!

ive got one of the dumbells at home but not used it yet, been practising with a 50kg dumbell at the gym then when i get a little bit more control over that ill giv the circus one a try!!!

im still building up my weights doing the GVT box squats, as ive been feeling rough havent done this weeks session tho... prob try it 2mos morning!!!
im hoping the squat frame will be easier than a normal squat cos only got 9reps wi 180kg at the Englands last year!!!

hows the prep for the u105kg coming, its only a few weeks out now aint it?

its nothing like a normal db! definatly get on your one!

yeah its alot easier than a normal squat! you should be good for 10 if you got 9 with 180!

yeah 105 prep is coming on well, going to try 240 DL tomorow then got 5 more DL sessions left to work on reps, after i get that ive only got to sort out my yoke and i know i can atleast complete every event! (hopefuly) so im really looking forward to it!
getting more excited about the U90s than i thought i would now though lol
» George's Log (Go to post)10-02-2010 @ 09:19
yeah swindon on sunday.

start with the baby dumbell. it was.....interesting, once you get it on your shoulder right then it feels good there, if not its horrable, and once you press it if it goes out of line abit there is no saving it, if it goes backwards just let go cause it ripps your shoulder back. its a 2.5" handle (at least) which was starnge.
But all in all i quite like the DB

on to the squat frame ........... i think it was around 220 i did, (two heavy tyres in the frame, but in the comp its one tyre and 10 empty kegs i think so maybe abit lighter) i failed it first try raw, then got it with wraps, it was hard! but my squating power is embarassing to say the least so you should find it easy! felt nice squating on it though. rob said best way to train for it was front and back squats. nothing else really

hope that helps Grin
