Good blogs Ross explaining your methods and fantastic vids. Olech was frightening to watch. That 300squat looked like a 60kg warmup. Incredible.

Had a nice big long swimming session today with Bryan Riddel and Graeme Martin working a few sprints, a fair amount of medium paced lengths, a few underwater lengths and a little technique work. My shoulder felt absolutely brilliant afterwards. No pain or heat in the joint at all and my flexibility was better than it has been as of late.
Because of this good session, I'm gonna miss out my Saturday. The stomach has been iffy for a couple of days, so just now I'd like both it and my shoulder to receive a little extra R&R before this impending Monday coming.
With Monday, comes the start of another 3 week cycle courtesy this time of Wishaw sports centre. I'll be training with Allen Steel and the weights will be higher for me than before. More than anything, I look forward to the front squats and the berbell presses though I understand that I'll still have to take it easy on the shoulders for at least another few weeks.

Bring on the heavy upper body day!

Squats:
5 sets of 8 reps at 60kg
1 set of 23 reps at 87.5kg
My hand started to tingle because of the dodgy shoulder on rep 22 so I did another rep and then racked it to finish on 23. Had plenty more in the tank and was aiming for 30 so I'm a bit peeved about not finishing my set.

Deadlift shrug combo:
3 sets of 8 reps at 70kg

Seated barbell press:
1 set of 8 reps at 40kg
1 set of 8 reps at 50kg
kept it nice and light and fast

Rotator cuff:
2 sets of 20 with 1.25kg

Hammer curls:
2 sets of 10 with 12.5kg

Superslow incline bench:
1 set of 10 reps with 20kg dumbells

dumbell rows:
3 sets of 10 with 20kg dumbells

All in all I kept the weight pretty light today and had a good play around with different exercises. Hopefully keeping a little active will spurn me on to recovery with this dodgy shoulder.

Swimming tomorrow.

That sounds great dude.
10:15 in central it is on Monday.

As for my blog:

Cardio:

40 minutes in Neilston pool was a riot. Again on the Wednesday session there were weans EVERYWHERE making it impossible to swim in a straight line. None the less, I swam a lot better today than I did yeaterday.

Shoulder was feeling it afterwards but I iced it for 30 minutes upon returning home and am about to do another 20 minutes icing again just now.

Train takes half an hour or so from central. I could meet you beforehand and we could get the train in if you like? 11am sounds perfect.
Just let me know when to meet you. Obviously I have the morning free so it's your call dude.

Nice looking session Ross. Well done with the overheads too.

I'm jealous of those Oly buggers myself. It's the speed at which they squat that amazes me, hence the fronties I've been doing.
Still planning fronties yourself at some point?

Lowlevel train to Wishaw from central station and the sports centre is right next to the station. From Neilston it's about 4 pounds 50 return so from Glasgow I imagine it's 3 quid return or something.
I'm working with Bryan on Monday though so if we could make it in the morning or lunch time it'd be much better if that was possible?

Thanks dude. Hope to see you Saturday. P.S. We're cleared for free training in Wishaw now. So when you're wanting to show up big roiders, it's on like donkeykong.

went for a float about in the pool earlier. Cardio was away and the pulse was high upon waking in comparison to last week. Definitely over reaching/on the cusp of overtraining and time to back off for a week.

Thursday will be de-load weights as will be Saturday. Then I'll decide on Tuesday if I'm starting my 3 week peaking cycle again.

As if 8s weren't bad enough Allen.
Your next singlet should come with nice long sleeves that buckle round the back haha.
