Post Edited: 30.09.2010 @ 23:24 PM by Toby FAT_SAM said:Let that s**t sink into the chest, short pause, and do 130! ![]() I am progressing really fast training like this man, i am sure i can touch and go 125-130 strict, or drop and heave it with a pause - but it has no carryover to anything in the long run so i really cant be arsed wasting energy on it. Next time i do touch and go i will work up to a 125 or 127 single i think, just to see how it feels but i am still hitting the pauses till i can hold 120 off the chest for 3 seconds.

Thing said: good thing that i use in a tennis ball, its been helping me alot this last month or so. hurts like f**k but i can do leg raises now because i have been rehabbing with th e ball and stretching the hips i also do a deep squat and hold it for as long as possible with a neutral back and that helps too. Tennis balls are amazing, and let you work a much more specific area than a huge foam roller

Toby - thanks mate, shame about the hip on the deads though but s**t happens. On the plus side, i have my inzer max DL suit now, and i am wondering if doing my warmups with straps down will help my hip? I thought suits were gay. At least they were about 4 weeks ago when i was wearing mine.

Wiegieboard said:You're training through the injury well dude. You just need one of those wee Japanese massage chicks to walk all over your glute every night. That'd speed recovery along nicely haha ![]() Where do you obtain these women? Also i woke up this morning and my glute was feeling great after a bit of stretching - as long as i keep it moving regularly then it doesnt tighten up or give me any problems. Its taking its time to recover, but its getting there!

Wiegieboard said:Another day, another PB for Tobias Dyson lol. Well done again dude! Its going well at the moment man, i got another PB today on high bar - no pause as my glute is still cramping sometimes. Squats High Bar 1 x 5 20kg 1 x 5 60kg 1 x 1 70kg 1 x 1 80kg 1 x 1 90kg 1 x 1 100kg 1 x 1 110kg 1 x 1 120kg 1 x 1 130kg 1 x 1 140kg - beltless high bar PB 1 x 1 150kg - belt on 1 x 1 160kg - slight lean... Decided to stop here Finished off with stiff leg deadlifts working up to a heavy triple, 5x10 hamstring curls, loads of weighted hyperextensions and some reverse hypers to help stretch the glute out some more. Its feeling much stronger and better now but it is still stiffening up every now and then...

Did some paused high bar squats, nothing that heavy today. Working on getting the positions right. Massive weakness of mine, so i am focussing on it for a few weeks now. Finished off with hammy curls, calf raises and weighted hypers.

Post Edited: 26.09.2010 @ 15:15 PM by Toby The music in our gym is normally f**king terrible, allthough occasionally we manage to get them to put on something decent. I tend to listen to my ipod if it gets to me. Normally something like acid bath, church of misery, testament, kyuss, melvins, slayer, electric wizard, darkthrone or high on fire.

Wiegieboard said:Glad to hear the squatting is feeling ace again and well done with those 20s. I can't even get 20s off the floor ![]() I was just f**king around to be honest, i didnt expect to move them due to my forearms being stupidly sore today - i think i could get 2-3 reps out with it on a fresh attempt now.

Fun session today. Squatting is coming back well, i hope to go to 170-180 next week. Squats 1 x 5 20kg 1 x 5 60kg 1 x 1 80kg 1 x 1 100kg 1 x 1 120kg 1 x 1 140kg belt on 1 x 1 160kg - deep, easy and fast. hammy curls, calf raises, weighted hypers, reverse hypers all 3x10. Finished off with pinch gripping 2x20kg plates twice - hadnt planned to even try this today as i trained grip yesterday, but i found 2 plates that fit together well for Craig, so i gave it a go myself and it didnt feel that hard this time! |
