Bench Day

Bench Press
1 x 8 40kg
1 x 5 60kg
1 x 2 80kg
1 x 1 92.5kg
5 x 3 80kg

Tate Press
2 x 15 18kg

Pushdowns
2 x 10 40kg

Rear Delt Cable Flyes
2 x 10 10kg

Ok session today, not at my best but managed to do everything i needed to do. Attempted to pause the 92.5 bench (would have equalled my paused PB) but something went wrong, was defo in me but my right arm went out of line for some reason, still unsure why... Hope to get at least 95kg paused within the next few weeks!

Squat Day

Squats
2 x 5 60kg
1 x 3 80kg
1 x 2 100kg
1 x 1 120kg (beltless PB)
1 x 1 130kg (Belt PB)
1 x 1 140kg (Belt PB)
1 x 150 (knee wraps)
1 x 160 (knee wraps)

Seated Leg Press Calf Raises
2 x 15 190kg

Hip Adduction
2 x 12 145kg

Crunches
3 x 25

The knee wrap squats where failed due to deapth, the 160 was quite close but the 150 was nowhere near (even though everyone in the gym seemed impressed as most of them quater squat...) Technique getting better every week, no longer do my now famous "good-morning" squat style.

nice lift m8

Thanks! Quite close to my max and after the other sets it was a pain, managed to get a single at least so i was happy! Main achievement of the week is fixing my bench setup, i think the changes i have made should give me 5-10kg more next time i go for a max.

Wiegieboard said:It was seriously f**king tough dude. I'm gonna work at it though and try a little grip work twice a week. Who knows, it might even up my benchpress a little bit in the long run haha.

Surely grip would help more in deadlift, unless you have trouble holding on to the bar in bench for some reason.

Yeah its hard, managed 15's easy enough when i was using bumper plates with the rubber grip, but the solid metal ones where a pain in the arse. had no chance with the 20's... maybe in a few years!

1 x 1 80kg + 20kg chain each side (Paused)

Deadlift Day

Deadlifts
1 x 10 70kg
1 x 5 120kg
4 x 4 155kg
1 x 2 175kg
1 x 1 200kg (was going for a dobule, failed second rep just below the knee)
1 x 8 155kg

Reverse Grip Pulldowns
2 x 8 100kg

I was planning to do some stiff leg deadlifts and t-bar rows as well, but after the fail on the second rep of 200 and the 8 reps at 155 i felt terrible and decided to cut the session short today. Still quite happy i got an unhitched 200 deadlift after the previous sets. I changed my technique slightly today and found it works a bit better and i can feel deadlifts progressing quite well now.

I am coming over your way on saturday so i will wait till then, we only have bumper plates at ours and 2 20's is stupidly thick, just one of them is about as thick as the video

I had to train at fitness first over summer, it was painful. Full of "bodybuilders" with their 60kg decline bench and concnetration curls, and middle age women doing light cardio. I got wierd looks from everyone apart from one guy while deadlifting, it was pathetic. I was half expecting to get kicked out for using chalk... Luckilly the one i was training in the weights section was a fair bit away from the treadmills so i didnt have the concentration problems, and by the looks of 99% of the women that train there there wouldnt be that issue anyway!

I will give this a try on friday, freakishly big hands are allways an advantage!
