Progress has been s**te to be honest. Probably not increased much for a few months. I've put it down to little back niggles holding me back in the past but a change I think is what is required, hence the lower rep stuff.

Matt, my favourite used to be and probably will be again the deadlift, but due to issues with my lower back I've fallen out of love with it a little bit !! Enjoying the squat more and more !

I would usually include maybe some lat pull downs or seated row's but I was training at home which means I have to stick to the basics. This, incidentally, was the first session I have done where I have steared clear of 5 x 5 on deads. Due to constant lower back trouble I am cutting down on the reps for deads in general and will maybe stick to doubles or triples at the most.

Hi, just a quick intro from myself, only just found this site yesterday and I was quite impressed, so much so I'm even going to start up another journal ! I'm 30 and have been lifting weights for about 10 years, moving more into the powerlifting scene in the last 12 months. I have a view to do my first comp in the first half of next year (won't be setting the world alight with current pb's of approx 180/135/240 (ish) 95kg, raw and natural !!

I'm currently going through a bit of a change in my training having done plenty of 5x5 work on the three lifts, I'm now trying to include more speed stuff too.

Like I say I'm a bit of a novice so all advice is more than appreciated...
