Deads - at last !

All felt very do-able, took it steady as not to disturb that nerve thing in my arse which does seem to have eased right off. Back feels really good at the minute so I'm trying to settle into a routine with deads whereby I'm not doing the same amount of volume on the day and also alternating it week by week with Good mornings or even speed deads...see what happens !

Thanks bud... just fancied em for a change, I do enjoy a good solid session on the leg press. The weight was just the plates but dont reckon the sled weighs that much...

A crap, token effort today, as I ate a dodgy chilli-con-carne and my guts have been doing stuff I've never experienced before. I was due a deads session today but wouldn't have managed it without having a serious accident in the trouser department... anyway enough of that !!

They are just to build speed yes, its something I have not concentrated on much before and didn't realise the importance of it to be honest. I reckon its the speed coupled with bad form that give me a limited bench so I'm trying to do something about it.

I like this idea, I have olympic plates strewn all over my garage at the minute and have been looking at something for a while.

I was actually thinking of getting hold of some scaffolding pole, drilling several suitable sized holes in the breezeblock wall and securing bits of pole in a suitable area with enough room to put 3/4 plates on each one... bit extreme but f**k it...

Yes they were mate I think, I'm trying to concentrate a lot more on these at the minute with form etc, where as in the past I've just chucked em up. I tend to lower it down a little slower and have a pause on the chest before blasting it back up... I have been advised in the past however to not worry about the weight so much but gain a little speed instead of increasing the weight so I might be jumping the gun a tad !!

I'll be working all over xmas this year so I expect it to be utter s**t. Trying to wangle a few hours off for xmas morning to spend some time with the kids, absolutlely gutted I can't spend the day with em but I don't reckon they'll know I'm even gone !!
